Can't imagine why!

I know you're being sarcastic, but of course the nerves of Tennessee fans are understandable, especially because of the last two games in the series where the Vols let victory slip away. It just FEELS like a curse, because otherwise, how could we have lost in such excruciating ways? It reminds me in a lot of respects of the Kentucky-Tennessee series the last few years before they finally won. It seemed like the Wildcats would just FIND ways to lose -- how could it NOT be a curse?

But I've decided this year not to trouble myself over this game. I want the Vols to win for sure, but I've wanted them to win every year and my worrying hasn't done a bit to affect the outcome. I also think the mental aspect is a far bigger deal for fans than for players -- players think, "Well, I wasn't part of those teams that lost, so what do I care?"

Plus, I don't think the team will have any trouble whatsoever with motivation. They KNOW they've let Florida off the hook the last two years, they know that the Vols are the better team, and they've had to sit in silence for months while the Gators talk and talk and talk some more.

Correct.

I'm nervous as hell

Your nerves are only going to make you upset. Win or lose Saturday, you're still going to love the Vols and you're still going to watch them, so why worry?

But, seriously, don't worry. We're gonna win.

But...wait, what if we don't? Oh man, now I'M nervous. I'm going to go running around the neighborhood for a few hours.

I'm thinking it's the Vols' game to win or lose but I simply can't buy the idea they've been holding anything back from the playbook. Maybe for game 1 but not for 3 games. Their problem thus far has been execution, not holding the playbook back.

But I will easily buy into Shoop ratcheting things up a couple of notches. If he's telling the press the Florida game was the reason he was hired, I'd love to hear what he's saying to the Vols' defense...

I can think of a certain six-letter acronym that may accurately describe his message.

I think it's more to the point of preparing for the correct coverages and in game responses. He should know the book on CJM and OC Nussmeier. Recognizing their tendencies, the capabilities of the existing personnel, and how to counter each.

What does WGWTFA stand for?

It started from a tweet of Darrel Taylor while waiting to go on the field in the BaB. They asked what was about to happen...His answer has become instant Volunteer lore..."We gonna whip they f**&%$ a%$"..I have no idea how you've missed this.

It's absolutely a joke. There are SOOOOOOOOO many variables that can happen in a football game, it is impossible to even put a percentage on it. It literally is pointless to even run the numbers, because you can run a million different simulations and I can say with 1,000% certainty that not one of those simulations will be what actually happens.

It's weird, everyone seems confident except for TN fans.

Computers only take in part talent etc. it Doesn't take into account coach effect and mental capacity.

We should win talent wise. The worry is coaching. TN has a HC and. OC that coach scared to lose vs a HC and DC that let it all hang.

Also how do the players and fans react to adversity this game? Does a big play take our crowd out making it a weird vibe in the stadium or do they keep fighting back? Do the players react the same way because of the streak or do they keep pounding?

Should we win? Yep.... Will we? Not sure cuz we should have two years in a row
