On 29 first-down plays on offense last night, Tennessee called 19 runs and 10 passes, averaged 2.7 yards per carry and allowed two sacks.

We're either not good enough to run the ball well, too predictable, or App St is better than we gave credit. It's a small mix of all 3 imo.

It's hilarious how people still can't see how handcuffed Dobbs was last night.....because of the Oline and the play calling that was so damn vanilla. The best part of Dobbs is his running ability an d Debord just ignores it the entire night. This game was on the freakin coaches.

In fairness, you see that Dobbs was handcuffed but you don't see that the coaches were handcuffed too. Your center can't block and your QB has an LB in his face. Your call. You can't run the QB because of the OL and you can't throw because of the OL. What do you do?

That said not running Dobbs earlier partially led to the OL problems because it aided that foothold App St. used.

You play Jack Jones.

You play Jack Jones.

Question on Jack Jones. I remember they had him playing backup there earlier in the camp but for some reason I thought they switched him elsewhere. I like JJ a whole lot but can he play center?

I'm a whole lot more confident in our depth at LB after watching Cortez last night. He's a very, very good 2nd string guy. Would start on a lot of SEC teams IMO

It sucks that he's a junior. He had to play so much on special teams that the coaches were never able to redshirt him.

I believe both he and Wiesman have repped extensively at center.

Buddy of mine texted me and said Hyams said Coleman Thomas was hurt. Anyone heard that?

Is Hyams referring to CT's feelings or an actual body part?

SIAP but weren't ppl asking if Gaulden got hurt? If you look at the post game highlights he's on the field when Abernathy breaks up that pass in the end zone.

The more I come down from my anger of last night, I wonder if this was actually the perfect outcome that could lead to a Big year?

Played hands down our worst game across the board yet still found ways to win. A lot of the questions analyst had about this team was mental capacity to have the ability to win the close game when thing a aren't going your way. Well they showed that last night in a way I can't say anyone would have predicted or seen in years past.

1. Lose JRM the heart and soul of defense. Cortez steps up.

2. Need a momentum play to swing it back our way? Cam Sutton incredible INT. Not just a normal INT but that is a Shoop preached challenge every route and be aggressive pick right there.

3. 3rd and long on critical late drive. We need a play bad. Who of all people steps up like a dang MAN. Josh freaking Malone. Does that happen last two years? Heck no it doesn't. He probably would have come close to housing that catch and was mad he didn't so next play they feed him again on the deep ball. Boom he makes the game changer play!

4. Missed FG and extra point by app state... Isn't that supposed to be us that miss those? Nope medley hit all his kicks

5. Everytime I thought oh no same ole TN of the past decade they proved me wrong late especially on defense. Def not the same old defense.

6. Dobbs fumble at GL in OT. Be honest we all thought omg not again we are cursed. Then Hurd somehow and I have no clue how recovers it for TD.

I'd be shocked if Butch doesn't let these boys have it and have them fired up for Battle of Bristol.

Maybe just maybe this isn't the same ole TN of the past decade that falters under pressure and the breaks go against them. When a play needed to be made, we had guys step up and make them.

With the way he played, I hope he was playing through injury that can heal up. If not, his pride should be extremely hurt.

People on VQ said he had a hurt ankle heading into the game and that was why he sucked so bad. In which case...WHY THE HELL DID HE PLAY when we repped 2 other guys at center?
