It seems like I read somewhere that Hart wanted to fire Dooley after the 2011 Kentucky game and was talked out of it.

Nooo. Hart wanted to keep Dooley five years to avoid the buyout. He would have kept him for the 2013 season if Dooley hadn't been manhandled by Vandy. That really pissed Hart off, because it made it impossible for him to keep Dooley another year. If he had fired Dooley in 2011, the program wouldn't have sunk so low.

Hart has been all about the bottom line. Many of our current problems stem from that.

Which 2? Maybe I'll adjust my predicted class.

The names I would watch for potential defections would be:

Jones
Page
Henderson
Lawson
Tucker

Of course something could happen with one of the other commits-- like if LSU turned up the heat on Labruzza and flipped him--, but these are the names I would watch for a decommit or two (or three).

Interesting picks there.

I'd leave Jones alone. He's a WR who is fast, shifty, and wants in.

With talk that UT told Taylor we have no more room at LB, the Page and Henderson idea could happen I suppose if we have a silent LB committed.

I like Lawson and Tucker, but I could see those not being secured spots.

Not sure about a few of those. Staff seems to like Henderson and Page. Lawson was highly regarded by teams like FSU. Multiple articles out there about how excited Jones is to get here. But cuts happen, so I get it.

I'd say Burnam would probably be one to watch for. Just doesn't seem like a fit with who this staff usually targets at LB. Especially if Foster commits, which should be before his senior season if I read that right. Pretty sure if he wants to EE, he has to before the school year starts at his high school, according to their rules.

I'm sure it's been talked about but I've been away. What's the latest on Alexis Johnson? Is he coming back or not? And if he is is he expected to RS this year?

When I look at the DEs we seem to be in play for, I'm not sure there are 2-3 I like better than Lawson. Of course new names pop up.

I'm not sure I they'll keep Burnam but I think he is what the previous defensive staff looked for at MLB. They seem to like downhill guys that can play tackle to tackle, that's what Kirkland and Bryant were outta high school. At OLB they seem to like the converted Safety that goes sideline to sideline like JRM, Cortez, Quarte, and I think that's what Henderson and Paige are. Now I think that if a better player of the same mold comes along at any position they'll make some changes, but I think the guys they have now are generally what they look for.

Hyams bringing the heat on Twitter. Echoing what GFW said. Sounds like the 16 class will have about 10 studs minimum.

I'm not seeing this, can you elaborate?

Says JG, Warrior, Byrd, Bituli, Callaway, Williams, and Johnson all look great so far. Kongbo is up to 280. Tatum up to 275.

Also, Bituli could be Kirkland's backup at MLB. Would be YUGE if he's remotely as good as DK Jr was as a freshman.

Thanks. This staff can evaluate talent, no doubt about it. Up there with the best of them.

Agreed. It sounds like we are really set at WR.

George, Johnson, Williams, Callaway and Byrd all drawing rave reviews so far.

Add a healthy PW, a reliable Josh Smith, and a hopefully breakout year for Malone and we are looking great.

Which Johnson - Ryan or Brandon?

If you're going to attack a recruiting class, best attack at the very beginning...they're learning. :)

I think this class will play out similar to the last class. All the talk of "Top10, Top10, Top10". But comes in at 14. I believe around 14-15 is a reasonable expectation after all the Top5-10 talk again this year.
