I still think this will all blow over. UT is going to dig in and fight this out in court. That will have to wait on some other ongoing cases to finish first.
This offseason will be rough for us, no doubt. But by the time all of this is settled in court it will be old news, a different college will have a scandal and be the center of attention, and we might even have a largely different coaching staff and athletic department for completely unrelated reasons.
The Butch stuff can't be proven one way or another. It's a he said/she said issue. There won't be any evidence for it beyond the testimony of someone who has already lied under oath at least once.
My guess is we endure more of this over the offseason, with it eventually becoming old news by the summer and the start of camp. Once the season starts and the Vols start winning games, it's mostly forgotten or people get tired of it all being rehashed while its played out in court.
UT probably reaches some sort of settlement around 2018-2019 and by then the entire roster and half or more of the coaching staff has likely been flipped.
