Yup. The hype train got out of control and somehow, someway this team is worse than it was last year. It's inexplicable. How does a team regress so much despite returning almost the ENTIRE team.

Dave Lawson was important to the team's physicality and discipline.

What a disappointing season. There was about 1 quarter in each of VT, Florida, and Texas A&M where we looked like the team we thought we'd be this year. Except for those 3 stretches, we've looked bad all year. If not for a fumble recovery in the end zone against Appalachian State and a miracle hail mary against Georgia, we're 3-5 in the year that's supposed to be our year. The two bright spots have been that Barnett's been fantastic and Jennings is a lot of fun to watch.

Why is everyone complaining about the line Dobbs had all day to throw and made horrible decisions. Hurd can't run because by the time he gets the ball the hole is gone but that's SEC football. Tonight was just horrible on offense and we definitely need a QB coach if we want any productivity from that position

Hurd should come back and play TE next year, hire a pro style OC and give Kelly and Chandler a FB to block. I feel sorry for Hurd because coming to play for my favorite team probably screwed his college career.

And I'm going to the mizzou game in a few weeks. Y'all pray for me. I may be suicidal by halftime.

I'm coming from Canada for what I expected to be the second-last step in UT's coronation as East champs (i.e., Kentucky game). I guess there'll be a different vibe than I expected for my first game.

There appears to be some off the field problems with this team. I don't know this for sure but there is no definite leaders.

You have guys making stupid plays on every kick off or punt return. I want to see leaders chewing their a$$ out before they leave the field.

We have questions about severity of injuries or injuries at all. Think we may have some attitudes.

We look like a bunch of individuals trying to make it to the league and not a TEAM trying to win a championship.

Also, they brought Kamara and Sutton with them, but they just sat there. I didn't see any big leadership. Leonard Little said it isn't all on the coach, that the players need to care about what's on the line.

Maybe. Maybe, I am just underestimating the effect losing a S&C coach can have on a team. I just don't buy Dave Lawson's departure as a factor in this team's issues or not.

Being tough starts in offseason conditioning and all through camp. Starts with a mentality in January. Soft offseason and soft camp.

Dobbs is a great kid but a soft leader. Why Barnett not promoted to captain is beyond me. Let JJ also be a captain.

It all comes down to a lack of killer mentality.

Discount strength coach. Discount OC. Discount OL coach. Discount turf management. Discount QB coach. Act like a top program and hire some f****** real coaches.

Jennings, Barnett, and the fans are the only ones with the fire and passion this program deserves.

I think the answer to "just how good of a team are we?" was answered tonight.

Not THAT good.

Six close games like this don't happen to teams that are as good as we thought we were.

We still have some questions to answer.

Better than we were but not remotely close to where we want to be.

Yeah I gave Debord a pass for the Bama game, but really no excuse for tonight coming off a bye week and playing a below average team in South Carolina.

The U of M fans I know in Michigan just laugh at the fact that Debord is our OC. They weren't fond of him when he held that position at U of M. I like Jones and his passion, but Debord has no creativity with this offensive. In fact, it is usually non-offensive. The only time it has ever looked decent (this year at least) has been in desperation mode. Peyton M. for OC. That is the answer. Just do what it takes to get him, give him the keys to the O, and let Butch do his things as leader.

Butch and his damn coach speak on the radio. God just shut up Butch. There does seem to be something off with team 120. Last year was so much better even though we lost some heartbreaking games- we played as a complete team. And really finished strong. This year it is the opposite in every way. Just hasn't clicked but very few times this season. Will be interesting to see what VFL34 says about this. Clearly the softer camp has contributed to some of these problems. It's like Butch handed the keys to the players and they have wrecked the car.

They called him Deboring

This team last year fought tooth and nail.

This team almost just expects the other team to give them the game.

We've fought for, I think, all of 60 minutes all year long. Five or ten or twenty minutes a game of three phase lights out football will not be enough.

I don't get it.

Hurd doesn't run with the same passion he did his first 2 years here. He's never been the fastest guy, or had great blocking, but he always ran hard. I just haven't seen much of it this year. Maybe he's injured, but something is up with him.

Butch wears a headset for a reason. He knows the calls and doesn't over rule them.

This is Butch's offense and this is his fault

That uncle of his might be in his ear also

What happened to him tonight? Another concussion?

He's been really beat up all year, running behind that OL. He's had concussion-like symptoms and keeps taking hits to the head. Now that ATL seems unlikely, it wouldn't be a shock if he decided to focus on his health and his future.
