If that's all you get out of me trying to discuss it, just forget I mentioned anything about it really.

Sorry bro. I'm picking up what you're throwing down.

This class just isn't going to be ranked as high as the past two. It's mostly due to numbers.

Hoping for a strong close. I have faith that Butch will do just that.

I expected to be in the same ballpark for sure this time last year. Especially after the last two years. If we close out strong this week we'll be fairly close.

We shall see.

We can't sell early playing time anymore, and we have only beaten 1 of the teams ahead of us (Georgia). Once we start winning some big games, be in the SEC Championship and/or Playoffs recruits will start knocking at our door again.

I'm not even digging up the kid's thread because he doesn't deserve it to be be bumped, but it was pretty clear the other Nigel was simply fishing for attention from us. Chose the red team. Punk.

As someone said earlier, average star rating is what really matters when initially evaluating classes. If you can rank in the top 5-7 schools nationally in average star rating each year, you *should* be successful. Class sizes will affect your overall rating each year so it's not wise to get hung up on yearly class rankings.

In the mid 2000's, USC signed a few classes of only 12-15 kids but their average star rating was 4.25 or higher. In other words, even when they weren't able to sign a full class, the class was filled with quality. That's why they were playing for national titles.

We need to let the ink dry before judging this class. The last two classes have been high on quantity and quality. Butch deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah I get it. It makes sense. But I'm talking about this time last year. It was hard not to assume that Butch was just going to figure out how to get it done in recruiting, even with the lower numbers.

He still might....

CBJ and crew were brilliant selling early playing time, family atmosphere and an up and coming (albeit traditional powerhouse) program the past 2 years. This year was always going to be a tough year because of limited numbers and 3rd year and all. Top level kids these days want to be on championship level teams, and these coaches will need to prove that UT is on that level this year.

No big deal..just weren't on the same page. I was just wanting to clarify that I wasn't dogging Butch or saying we had a bad class at all.

This could be old programming but...

In case you care ESPNU has a pretty cool program going right now about NSD and the UA game. We sure do glorify these kids but the success stories are being berthed right now. It's neat to see the few who understand the gravity of this really take it all on.

Several shots of JG too :) And that VFL wristband.

They signed those kind of classes BECAUSE they were winning national titles.

...and cheating.

I hope he goes out with another ring.

Sunday might capture as much passion for me as any game next fall for us.

Never has one man taken on the role of a loved team for myself. I don't care about any team in the nfl but I darn sure do about Peyton's team.

Strange and sad to see that kind of fandom leave for me
