The receiving team has the right to the ball before it hits the ground. That's why the receiving team can call for a fair catch just like a punt.

There would never be onside kicks if what you're saying were. The case. It's live after ten yards regardless.!novofy was even there to call a fair catch anyways. Being able to call a fair catch is the only similarity to a punt.. Only

The Vol Network needs to hire him to replace Kesling. Dude is awesome. Haha.

When he gets to the end, you're almost like:

I actually think he's right about this. Paraphrasing, I think the stipulation is that the kicking team cannot interefere w the receivng team catching the ball on the fly.
It's why most are just driven into the ground immediately on kickofff.

Now did Bama interfere? Didn't look like it to me.

It just has to go ten yards. You're wrong on this one. The ball is live on kick offs after it goes 10 yards. On punts it's not a live ball unless it hits the receiving team.

I have no idea on this rule one way or the other, but that wouldn't affect 99% of onside kicks. They're always rolled or kicked straight into the ground to get a big bounce. I've never seen one just lobbed into the air before.

I think we have the potential to have a defense similar to Clemson's next year. It really hurt them when they lost their best CB in the first half. On offense, I feel like we have a better running game (especially if Kamara comes back), but our passing game doesn't compare. We need more accuracy on passes and some receivers who can get open. The sky is the limit if we can figure that out.

Bama looks like a pro team. We aren't quite there yet.

Does it touching the ground change it on a normal on side kick?

No...that's why you see different strategies on onsides. Some will basically kick it into the ground to get a hop, some will kick to an area with a buncha bodies flying...rugby at it's finest.
