SEC chooses the bowl.

Florida could go to Peach Bowl, LSU to Outback, Georgia to Taxslayer/Belk

I didn't know whether Citrus was one of the bowls that was included in the SEC picks. I feel like we have a legit argument for being picked over Florida and LSU. Definitely over GA. Should be interesting.

I guarantee because of the tentative home and home with UM the city won't burn that bridge with UF. It's been discussed at length on UF sites already. The Mayor has already started backing UF. Better get your Outback tix.

I am telling all you guys that the Bowl doesn't have the final say. Sure, they try to provide input, but the SEC office sets the matchups. I live in Memphis, and it is known that the Liberty officials did not get who they wanted last year. In fact, I don't think A&M was even in their top 3.

We don't get excited because we have 8 wins, we get excited because we had 5, then we had 7 and now we have 8, possibly 9. G*****n right we're excited because we are FINALLY on the way back up after being at the bottom.

Big O, I'm in agreement to an extent.

The only thing, I was saying is that people need to temper expectations a lil bit.

Against the 5 best teams we played
OU, FL, Georgia, Bama, Arky. We went 1-4. I know we had OU and FL on the ropes and if we had a dang kicker, we may have beaten Bama also. But we still lost those games and until we win some of those, and we will, people can't realistically say we are "BACK".

:hi: GO BIG ORANGE. lol

I don't know if Butch will ever win a national championship here, but starting in 2016, we are poised for 10-win seasons almost every year until he either gets fired, gets hired somewhere else, or retires.

The talent gap is going to grow even bigger between UT and USC/Mizzou/Vandy/UK, so those will be wins every year. Add in 4 OOC opponents that are unlikely to be anywhere near as challenging as the UO/OU home and home series.

Then all he has to do is split UGA/UF/Bama/rotating West opponent for a 10-2 regular season. Hell, he could go 1-3 against those opponents and win a bowl game and still get to 10 wins.

The encouraging thing about Butch on gameday is that he really seemed to learn from the mistakes early in the year as the season went on. Nothing was evident of that more than him going for it on the goal line against Vandy last Saturday, and even though he didn't get it (ARrggghhhhh Jalen fumbling at the goal-line stupid shotgun formation asfd;kajsdf;lkjasf) it paid off. I hope he realizes had he done that at Oklahoma, and that is a different game.

Hopefully, that play is my last memory of Mack Crowder. He is symbolic of the Dooley years. Seemingly a good guy but in way over his head in the SEC. Hurd never had a chance with Crowder flying backwards into the running lane

Isn't that for "group of 6" Bowls not for Sugar it Citrus?

Hearing that Cut is getting a look at both USCe and UGA.

Would hate to see him in the SEC. He would do really well.

S.Carolina maybe. UGA job is already gone. It's Smart for the dawgs. They didn't fire Richt to have a coaching search. That's just talk but they had their man before making that move now because Smart was going to S. Carolina if UGA didn't open.

Got a text from a friend.

Just in from Athens......
Smart could be a done deal. His agent is contacting a few other coaches. Only 3 current coaches are going to be asked to stay. Running backs coach, tight ends coach, and Pruitt. Rest are gone. The OC from Ole Miss is Smart's first choice for that position. The AD told Schottenheimer that he wasn't going to be retained a month ago. His house is on the market and if not sold by March 1st UGA will buy it for a set price. Richt wanted to leave next season, but Smart was leaving Bama this year so it was all pushed a year up. Richt is going to stay on as an assistant to the AD mainly running the Paul Oliver Foundation. He is not going to work in daily football operations. Will mainly focus on the other sports. Richt is still going to recruit and coach thru bowl game and then Smart takes over. So far all the recruits that have committed are staying and two linemen that were going to Bama are headed to the Dawgs.

All this in a "text" huh?

Reminds me of my ex GF. Jesus.

You know, one huge reason why I love the RF and despise the FF is the thread format. Way too many "dumb thread is dumb" going on over there. It's like a spastic ADHD kid with random outbursts all blurted out over the page and little real info. I come back here and we have very concise threads with at least a real purpose even with the tangents.

Sorry for the side bar, but I wanted to thank you all in the RF for keeping this place awesome. And that Freak guy for generally being Freaky.

Ok, my bad. I think you are right. The bowl situation is always changing. Looks like the SEC places the group of 6. However, the article that I just read says the Citrus likes LSU but still up in the air.

How does UF bring more money to the city than Tennessee or LSU? Bowls have obligations to their host cities. Out-of-state schools would sell way, way more hotel rooms and do way more touristy stuff than a bunch of near locals.

What would a UF-UM home and home have to do with Orlando?
