If I was told at the beginning of the year I could only have one win between UGA and FL I would have immediately grabbed at FL because of the disgust I have for them but if I rational thought about the future of our program and recruiting UGA would obviously be much bigger with official visitors and our ability to pluck kids out of GA easier than FL. Big win yesterday

I had intended on mowing and not even watching the game Saturday (been getting too torn up), but the weather never cooperated. Needless to say, I'm so glad.

Couple observations:

1. Besides recruiting, the one thing that leads me to believe that Jones might be the guy is that I've yet to see one of his teams here at Tennessee quit. That is huge!

2. Loved the aggressive coaching. I think going for it twice on 4th down during that drive late in the first half instilled some much needed confidence in the offense.

3. I was feeling sort of down on the coaching, but Doug Matthews's podcast this week started to make me feel a bit better about the whole thing. Aside from a few questionable decisions late in the Florida game, I'm coming around to believe that Jones has had these kids in position to win every game and that the losses have had more to do with players not making plays. They made plays Saturday. Been a lot of short armed drops on offense and short armed tackles on defense in critical moments of these games, and that was the case in the first half when we were down 24-3. But starting at the end of the 1st half, the players made plays.

4. I hope Martin gets a lot of work during the bye. Moseley and Foreman just seem to get beat a lot and are obviously being targeted by opponents.

5. It's about time we get a few breaks. We needed a few breaks in '98 and we sure need then now.

6. Been a long time since we've had play makers on offense like Hurd and Dobbs and I love it. They are fun to watch. Hope they continue to tear it up.

7. Hope everybody heals up quick. Our guys and UGA's.

8. Big Mac, Tuttle, Jones, and Hall are for real.

Need to get Martin ready to play against Bama. Kiffin will attack Moseley and Foreman all game. Will be a tough test for the secondary.

Yesterday was a great day, and we understand now not to take these wins for granted anymore. The last 8 years have helped us enjoy that win.

I missed the last 2 minutes and went back and watched. One complaint I have is that Jancek again used a spy on that last play. Florida had a RB in the backfield, so I kind of understood. Georgia had an empty backfield, yet we rushed 3 and used a spy. They had to go to the endzone, so you basically take the spy out of the play- he is in no man's land. He is not rushing or defending the pass, and Lambert isn't running 26 yards to score. Just confused on that call.

CBS has us in the Liberty Bowl vs. KSU. I say we are may be looking Memphis bound but more likely to get Texas if they get some wins.

Edit: Or in the Sugar if we win the SEC Championship game.

Yea I yelled "not again" when I saw that he wasn't coming on a rush

Yeah you're right. I was just looking at match-ups. Thought Texas would be an interesting one. Notre Dame, Michigan or Michigan St. would all be interesting. I guess its too early to get a good feel for what will transpire.

I'm still not sure Texas makes a bowl.

North will be ready to go for Bama I assume. Hope Croom will be too now that we are starting to utilize our receivers :) how about PW though? He's going to be legit
