@wesrucker247: #Vols’ newest practice trick — I’m not making this up — is putting injured players in different jersey numbers when they have to wear green.

That's weird. I'm guessing so the media can't report on which players are injured?

OT, but I really think Mizzou brings Florida down to earth this weekend. Drew Locke is a baller.

Just hit our field goals. Offense, defense, and return game is doing enough. Medley has lost atleast 2 of the 3 games for us

So if we can find a way against UGA..

(Holds breath, almost doesn't post)

We can still win the east. Just putting that out there.

that would leave UGA with two losses. UF still has to play Mizzou, UGA, and LSU.

Georgia has to play Mizzou, UK, and Auburn.

Flame away, but it's not (technically) over yet.

We would need to beat UGA and Bama, then win out.

And undefeated UF would need to collapse and lose three SEC games.

It's possible... but we'll need to get past UGA first. That's a tall order for this team.

If this is true they are focusing too much on things that really don't matter.

Rumor continues to grow. Team loses morale. Gets blown out by UGA. Rumor continues to grow. Team gets blown out by Bama. Rumor is confirmed as frontpage news on Monday following Bama loss.

Butch and Hart fired on the same day. Fulmer named AD and appoints Stripling as interim head coach. Team rallies under Strip and wins out. Fulmer has a month and a half head start on other programs to look for a head coach. Chip Kelly gets fired from Philly after posting a 2-7 record.

Chip Kelly introduced as new head coach on Nov. 30.

:eek:lol:

Stranger things have happened I suppose...

This is getting out of hand. We need wins badly.

There must be new injuries we are trying to keep under wraps.

Remember the Rocky... Top... first down cheer, with Butch's video showing the fans how to do it. The week before the OU game.

I do. Can you imagine Nick Saban or any other big-time coach for that matter, doing stuff like that? I think Butch was not ready for a job like this, this big. He's got a lot of growing up to do. Not sure he's going to have time to do it here.

Arkansas was a 4-pt game.

The Florida game was a 55-yarder because of penalties and wasted timeouts.

And the the Oklahoma game was a 48-yarder on 4th and 16, meaning the offense made the kick even longer.

Don't blame these losses on the kicker, especially when the team puts him in barely possible situations. I wouldn't blame Adam Vinatieri if he were on the field.

Agree. I've always thought all the gimmicky stuff was to cover up the incompetent coaching that's been going on for three years. It's fun for fans, players, recruits for a little while. But none of that matters unless you're winning. Always felt this job was way too big for Jones. Hiring DeBord proved it even more.

Quick HiTs: Somber Vols prep for UGa

The music didn't sound quite as loud, and Butch Jones stalked the practice field during open portions without a microphone in hand, though Jones later could be heard bellowing instructions on the microphone.

So it might have been business as usual in many ways Tuesday for Tennessee on the practice field, but the short period of time available for media to witness didn't reveal much about the Vols' efforts to salvage a season on the brink as Georgia visits Neyland Stadium Saturday afternoon at 3:30.

I suppose there's a 50/50 chance he could've scaled the learning curve by Year 3. But I think it would have taken a different staff. So many HCs live and die by their choice in coordinators.

The point of no return for the season is UGA. Lose here and we're likely playing for a bowl game.

But that's the thing, this off season, he had the perfect opportunity to hire a really good coordinator. No "buddy" was getting canned...No feelings would be hurt.

VOLS should not be a bargain basement team where the coach can hire all his best friends to get big money. If they were going to do that, then Cutcliffe should be here. He wanted to bring his staff and it wasn't allowed.
