That would be a huge scratcher if TENNESSEE did not have one of the spine surgeons take a look. OK, so now absolutely none of this makes sense to me.

If it is significant congenital cervical spinal stenosis, you do not clear the player to participate in contact sports. End of sentence no wiggle room. So now I'm trying to figure out exactly what his "cervical issue quote was ...

Wasn't it said to be the same thing Peyton had??

Yeah, this is what I was wondering. It would be great to have him back, but not at the expense of his health. Wasn't it reported that he was diagnosed with stenosis?

That is what I thought as well… However if it is stenosis due to a disc problem, that is a totally different creature than congenital spinal stenosis which is a bony narrowing.

I may be wrong, but I remember seeing something like "feared to be stenosis," not necessarily that it was diagnosed. Not 100% sure though.

That is a very strange way for them to address his injury... Continues to be a confusing situation.

Blaine Bishop said this afternoon that Moseley's problems were technique and can easily be fixed. He was playing press coverage, didn't get turned quick enough, and was getting beat off the line. He said also said His coach being out probably played a large part in not making adjustments.

Good to see a former NFL star saying a DB coach does matter because a lot of couch potatoes seem to think it doesn't

Martin saw some increased work today at practice... he is going to play on Saturday.

it will be a major surprise to OU

I would really like to see him at nickel. I'm not concerned about Moseley. I believe he matches up better with OU's small receivers than he did with Bowling Green's.

This week is really week 1 for us. Last week was so vanilla from play calling, to personal packages, to who was receiving the reps.

You do what you can to get bye in the first game and get the win, but you really do not want to show much of anything either.

Hello Freak,

Would you mind if I contact the Tennessee AD so that I can review L McNeil's case, MRIs, etc. as a 3rd opinion? For player safety first and foremost, but also to put at ease the minds of the Big Orange faithful.

I will present myself as the team physician and spine specialist of VolNation. :hi:

As a true VN public servant,I will cover all travel related expenses. I will of course need to be available on the Tennessee sidelines for the games.

I will need an assistant for the games as well. Maybe raffle or auction off the spot each week with the money set aside for VN families in need...:salute:

Just let me know :salute:

McNeil practiced today, full pads green jersey!

Also also apparently Martin was going beast on the scout team

"MORE FOR MARTIN: Jones said McKenzie and Martin would be given more reps Tuesday, and at least in Martin’s case we noticed that Tuesday. And the Nashville native got very physical with the scout team during special teams drills. He’s just a very, very good athlete, and he’ll be a very good football player once he learns what he’s doing out there."

And also QD continues to drop dimes left and right all over the field.

This might be the greatest year ever for true freshmen QBs. I can't remember so many true freshmen QBs getting this much hype. We all know what QD has been doing. But you have Josh Rosen already looking like a stud. Kyler Murray almost taking Kyle Allen's job after the first game. In Mizzou, they're saying this kid Drew Lock is already passing up Maty Mauck (which really isn't saying much). I saw Louisville play Lamar Jackson, a true freshmen, at QB and he almost beat Auburn single-handedly.

Pretty impressive results by this freshmen class so far.

How exactly do you blow gas up ones ass

Nice hit, but It was actually really poor protection for the unit. A guy came free off the right side where we were out numbered. Kerbyson, Robertson, Thomas and Weisman were likely supposed to block to their right with Hurd picking up that DE on his own. Dobbs could have gotten hurt on that play.
I'm not gonna get to down about a guy getting through on a six man rush.

Just from a lot of the quotes coming out of OU, they really sound like a team that's trying to make themselves believe this won't even be a game.

Maybe they're monsters, I don't know. But when a team has to get all puffed up like that...I'm thinking they might wilt fairly quickly if things don't go right.

Played possum on defense Saturday. Oklahoma will have to adjust at halftime because they have no film

Kind of what I was thinking too. I'm inclined to think we'll look a whole lot different on D this Saturday.

However, I can't believe OU's offense, especially the running game, was really that inept against Akron. I'm thinking we better be on our toes as well.

I bet McNeil showing up for practice made all the players lively today. Especially the defensive backs. Wish the media could have seen that or wrote about it

Exactly. Compare that to the interviews our guys gave yesterday. The players were all very loose, confident but not cocky. They know this will be a tough game, they didn't downplay the opponent, but they also didn't seem fazed by it. Our team is embracing the challenge.

Oklahoma's coach and players.....not so much. It seems like they're trying to convince themselves it'll be just like it was last year. They're about to run into the same buzzsaw Virginia Tech ran into last night if they think this will be just like it was last year.

Maybe I am just too old fashioned but I deplore kids making statements with off color language in them. My guess is if one of our players made a similar statement many here would love it but even though I use off color language all the time I think athletes should always refrain from it in public.

I swear, after all the trash that OU has already talked to this point, dragging their asses up and down the field Saturday night would be the most therapeutic thing that ever happened.
