abrock42 has officially gone all in. That's a bold strategy. Let's see if it pays off for him.
Fact: I wrote that over the last few years they had a better program than UT who is going to their first bowl game over the last few years.
Fact: UT has won five games four out of the last seven years and have only won 6 regular season games at best over that time.
Fact: If you think UT has been a better program during that time, then I think you are wrong.
UT has been in a disarray the last seven plus years and have not been a good program. SEC or ACC coaches get fired for wins and losses and UT has not been winning.
Fact: GT has been to a bowl game for the last 17 years straight. Regardless of conference that is impressive and UT has been a clustermess for the last few years.
Yet to be seen.
I've never been high on Ugo. I'll honestly take Walker over Phillips, with no sour grapes.
I really wanted Martin. His potential is high, and there is no other "plug and play" still on the board for us at CB

I mentioned this in another note, but will try and give some insight regarding some of the issues in BM. While I do not like to drop the "insiders" line, and I have done so very little over the years, with CMB now gone, I am not as hesitant to share. The points below are real and our program is at a turning point, with ADGM really the issue, and has been for a while. I know I have been a lukewarm supporter of the athletic department (I guess more of a Disney regarding the football program) and not quick to lay blame at ADGM's feet, but based on information received today, my opinion is changed and I truly think he is a cancer to our long term success in football.
- ADGM has tried to take all power from the football program away from CMR. Obviously not providing needed resources. ADGM is calling the shots by withholding resources and forcing his will on the entire program.
- He did not allow CMR to counter CMB. Fact: If we had countered with CJP money and a 2 year deal, CMB would not have even interviewed with CSU. No counter was a sign of total disrespect, so he took the opportunity to move forward.
- ADGM has an issue with CMR and is trying to force him to leave so he does not come across as the bad guy. Nothing to do with performance, more about the fact CMR apparently is not quite the a$$ kisser many on the board say he is.
- The situation is so bad. it would not be surprising to see CMR walk away after the bowl if ADGM is to be with UGA long run.
- ADGM seems to want Mullen as his HC and if that doesn't work, he will try and get Kirby should CMR step down. CMB was well aware of this and without the respect noted above, had no reason to wait around for a job ADGM was not gonna let him earn.
- If we let Pruett get on the plane and interview with TA&M, he is as good as gone. We need to lock him down before he goes.
- There are rumblings BMAC is even considering overtures from UF. That happens, our recruiting class is in trouble. But this is how bad it has gotten.
- There is tension among the entire staff as they are all upset with the lack of effort in trying to keep CMB (all with ADGM and not CMR) and feel the lack of support will prevent UGA from taking the steps needed to succeed.
- If ADGM survives, we will see a lot of new faces in BM over the next year, as the current staff will not remain in tact with him in a leadership role. CMR and CJP are aligned with their positions so the talk about an issue between them does not appear to be accurate.
Since they are playing in the Orange Bowl and ranked 12th in the nation, I am impressed and could care more for your opinion. JK But, the Tech program is doing just fine. Look up how many bowl seasons they have in a row. I never thought 10 years ago that UT would be worse as a program than GT in football but that is college football these days with roster limits and things. I am so tired of the SEC horn being blown all the time. At some point, I want UT to be at the top of the SEC and could not care if it is considered the best conference or not. I want for UT what Tech has this season. Big bowls and high ranks and wins. It is time we stop pulling for our main SEC competitors to win. It does not help the UT program get wins, high rankings, and big bowls. I want all SEC and ACC teams to lose except the Vols and Jackets. SEC pride is for the team with losing programs. UT pride not SEC pride is how I ride.
You would seriously take what UT has done with Dooley over GT? Man, if you look over the last few years and say UT has been better then you know nothing about college football. Even this year, tech beat Georgia and if in a bowl tomorrow, Tech would blow UT out. Saw posters on this site saying DO NOT SCHEDULE TECH for the first game next year. UT should be better than Tech but right now they are not.
Your original statement was that UT has a worse football program than Ga Tech.
Now after I proved you WRONG, you have changed it to the last few years!!
I'm not playing this game with you.
UT has a better Football program than Ga Tech, (and it's not even close) regardless of what has happened the last 5 seasons.
UT has been to more bowls, has more wins, and more titles than Tech.
UT plays in the toughest, most difficult and competitive conference in the country while Tech plays in the worst of the five power conferences.
No one in their right mind would even compare the two programs as UT is far superior.
