Ok who's the morans that thought scheduling a bowl game in the middle of a work day was a good idea? Now I'm gonna have to use half a vacation day just to watch the game.

From Deerpark regarding Helm.

Not trying to poke fun at the situation or make light of it but...

As far as the social environment, the only thing I had difficulty adjusting to was the fact that I had a girlfriend back home...

I was somewhat of a wallflower in high school but I threw some parties that rivaled Animal House quality...or rather, debauchery...in college.

*sniffle* I miss college...

Plus he has Elway right there as the blue print.

Yep. Peyton has said repeatedly that he admires what Elway has done. Seeing how competitive he is, Peyton would probably like to one-up Elway a little. He'd probably like to buy the Saints, if that were possible.

Yeah the date of the game saddens me of all the bowls we could have made we make the one that starts right when I'm boarding a plane to go skiing and doesn't land till likely right around the end

I'm somewhat of a homebody myself but I could never dream of leaving a situation like these players have it. I don't care what the coaches called me. Especially if I was seeing playing time as a freshman.

I believe what he said was that they had talked about buying the Titans together before Jimmy bought the Browns now he is out. Think the article was saying that Manning could join an investment group that buys the Titans with one potential majority owner being Fred Smith founder of FedEx. He currently is a minority owner of the Redskins but could easily sell and Titans are much closer to his base in Memphis

Peyton, or technically his wife, is a small, small minority owner in the Grizzlies. But it's pocket change for them.

"A few pre-practice notes...

First, it is important to note that Tennessee moved up football practice today in order to get coaches out on the recruiting trail earlier before dead period hits. Specifically, look for the Vols to be in-home with Ugo Amadi this evening after, we were told, LSU was expected to visit earlier in the day.

As for Quinten Dormady, he will be at practice, but is not expected to be cleared for throwing for the next 2-4 weeks. We are told that it is not a structural issue, but perhaps some scar tissue not in his throwing shoulder. There is optimism that he will be cleared in a few weeks and will begin throwing then.

On Daniel Helm, we do not expect him to practice with the Vols, and indications are that he will likely return home.

We are also hearing that Drae Bowles is exploring a transfer to UTC.

We also hear that official visits went very well this weekend, with Chance Hall and Alvin Kamara looking particularly physically impressive."

This guy was home schooled. Probably a huge leap from a social aspect.

Sounds like a pre practice write up.

Helm going back to mamas teet. Gonna be a tough life if he can't develop some social skills

I don't understand this. I have four grandchildren that are home schooled and they are part of a church run system (different denominations). They are involved in other organizations and also play bluegrass and some gospel music so they are out around other people and kids. If Helm has lived such a sheltered life that he can't relate to the "real world" then his parents have failed him (that's JMO) and he will have a hard time making it in the world the way it is today. I almost find it hard to believe that he is having the problems with language, etc. that people are saying he is. I find it even harder to believe that he played 4 years of high school football and never heard any bad language aimed at him.
I will not be surprised that we hear later on that there were other issues (good or bad) that have led him to decide to leave (if he actually does). All JMO

Could be OV but when your social circle consist of like minded, similar moral compass, folks then you off to college where drinking, drugs, and promescuity are common place, could be quite the shock.

Looks like Butch will have the last word on Ugo before the dead period starts. I like our chances there. :)

That is so terrible. Auburn needs to bring back its campus police. They nixed it a few years ago, I believe because of budget issues, and the city does all the police work now for both the city of Auburn and Auburn University.

Campus police may be a pain in the butt at times but just having them visible can stop people from doing stupid stuff.
