I think your right but everyone will still act like the sky is falling. Acting like we lost 50% of the class.
So La Canfora says Manning and Jimmy Haslam could buy the Titans in 2015. Way too early but that would be pretty dam cool.

The sky isn't falling, but 10% does raise a few questions. Two could have made a real impact and one would have added needed depth, so it is a bit concerning if they all go home after one semester.
????Not sure that can even be accurate. Haslam is a current owner in the league, you cannot own two different teams. I could see Manning going in with another person though to try to get into NFL ownership.
Plus, I am willing to bet that the NFL has a rule like the NBA where you can't be an owner and player at the same time, especially another team. Do we really expect Peyton to retire after this year after the way he is playing? Jordan had to divest when he made his comeback with the Wizards. I could see this happening by 2020 but not next year.
IDK I think a lot of players retire with something in the tank physically. I've heard several former players say they could've still played two or three years at a high level when they retired. Manning has nothing to prove at this point IMO.
Plus he has Elway right there as the blue print.I'm not sure if Peyton has more than another year left. He's been looking different since that Patriot loss. And the road to the Super Bowl goes through Foxborough, so it will be a real battle to get that second ring.
I think he'd like to stay closer to the game than broadcasting. He has said he doesn't want to coach, so I can see him buying into something and making his own. Wonder if Peyton and Eli will do something together?

I believe what he said was that they had talked about buying the Titans together before Jimmy bought the Browns now he is out. Think the article was saying that Manning could join an investment group that buys the Titans with one potential majority owner being Fred Smith founder of FedEx. He currently is a minority owner of the Redskins but could easily sell and Titans are much closer to his base in Memphis
