Hate the news out of Auburn. Too much senseless stuff going on in this world. Prayers out to all the Auburn and his family. Hope they catch the guy who did this.

I was thinking about that. I think we could probably chalk it up to just differences in approach. The point though is that we both independently found that recruiting matters a great deal.

We need our own recruiting stats thread up in here.

Im more concerned about losing coaches not named Mahoney rather than some of these players. Attrition happens. Scott is facing a battle for time with Hurd and Kamara and while Helm stings,Wolf is only going to be a soohomore and Ellis looks to be a competent replacement. Creamer and Branisel are coming off redshirt years. Its more important imo to keep this staff together again. We need continuity.

So La Canfora says Manning and Jimmy Haslam could buy the Titans in 2015. Way too early but that would be pretty dam cool.

I think your right but everyone will still act like the sky is falling. Acting like we lost 50% of the class.

The sky isn't falling, but 10% does raise a few questions. Two could have made a real impact and one would have added needed depth, so it is a bit concerning if they all go home after one semester.

????Not sure that can even be accurate. Haslam is a current owner in the league, you cannot own two different teams. I could see Manning going in with another person though to try to get into NFL ownership.

I haven't seen it be made official that Hendrix and Helm were gone. We will know soon. Expect Paulk back.

Plus, I am willing to bet that the NFL has a rule like the NBA where you can't be an owner and player at the same time, especially another team. Do we really expect Peyton to retire after this year after the way he is playing? Jordan had to divest when he made his comeback with the Wizards. I could see this happening by 2020 but not next year.

Yea he maybe would have to sell the Browns. I wonder if it applies to minority ownership?

It was on another board that Helm's locker is cleaned out today and he isn't practicing. Guess we'll know more tonight.

Forgot about Paulk. So that's good news!

IDK I think a lot of players retire with something in the tank physically. I've heard several former players say they could've still played two or three years at a high level when they retired. Manning has nothing to prove at this point IMO.

I don't disagree, but Manning is on one of the league's 5 best teams. He could win it all any year with some breaks, and I believe he wants another ring to match Eli. I have no doubt that he would hang it up a little early, but he is a machine right now. I would be a bit surprised if he didn't play another year or two.

I'm not sure if Peyton has more than another year left. He's been looking different since that Patriot loss. And the road to the Super Bowl goes through Foxborough, so it will be a real battle to get that second ring.

I think he'd like to stay closer to the game than broadcasting. He has said he doesn't want to coach, so I can see him buying into something and making his own. Wonder if Peyton and Eli will do something together?

Plus he has Elway right there as the blue print.

I believe what he said was that they had talked about buying the Titans together before Jimmy bought the Browns now he is out. Think the article was saying that Manning could join an investment group that buys the Titans with one potential majority owner being Fred Smith founder of FedEx. He currently is a minority owner of the Redskins but could easily sell and Titans are much closer to his base in Memphis

Seriously guys, I'm not going to preach on how to conduct yourself on a message board but an 18 yo kid lost his life at Auburn. Have a little humanity, it's really not that hard.
