Florida just seems tailor made for the spread with their talent base. Bet Roper would have made a better hc than this dude. I'm not complaining one bit though.

That was my first thought. I feel like FL would be best served staying away from a ground and pound type offense. In general, it doesn't fit their recruiting base.

I'm perfectly happy with them giving it a shot though. It won't hurt us being able to pull dual threat QBs, WRs and smaller backs out of Florida.

Honest question, I think it has already been discussed but why is South Carolina listed ahead of us in the east standings? Alphabetical?

Why?

I was on the GJ here this year. It took 4 days to go through all the cases for the month.

Because if the prosecutor wanted them tried, he likely would have arrested them first. I doubt the prosecutor asks the GJ for an indictment, jmo.

Not necessarily. As I stated above, it is not uncommon for these type of cases to go straight to the GJ. However, as you insinuate, in TN, if a DA wants something indicted, then it almost always happens.

Seeing Florida fans complain and complain about Muschamp trying to run a pro-style offense and then fake being happy and claiming McElwain is an offensive guru and that they love the potential of his pro style offense is hysterical to me.

lol. They obviously have tendencies very similar to v/n.

... and look at how they've fallen apart since he's left. :whistling:

I'm not saying that there will never be a good coach from the Saban coaching tree, but if we've learned anything over the recent years, Saban.

Was thinking the exact same thing. We listed Dooley's accomplishments with Saban and LSU to justify the hire. But it's all due to Saban. Muschamp is the same story too.

I think it is different in different jurisdictions. Don't know the norm for Knoxville. Here, presentment are not "rare" but I would say 85-90% of cases start in Sessions.

My main thoughts are that it's obviously not a cold case, there's a victim, FSU and UVA are in the news big time, both defendants are from out of state, DA is brand new.

I think if you have a case, you want both to make a bond. You want to be seen doing something about it. Here, you'd want a judge ordering no direct or indirect contact with the victim. You probably wouldn't quietly submit it to the grand jury without some kind of fanfare. This is just LWS saying this, not even Hubbs.

On the other hand, if you don't have a case, you don't want to be seen declining prosecution with Rolling Stone articles and Jameis Winston memes all over the Internet. Let the grand jury do your dirty work.

No kidding. Hey we got this kick butt buyout clause. I told him pinky promise if a cool job comes buy he won't have to do it though.

The guy even made the comment "coaches use CSU as a stepping stone job and we needed protection".

Just rewatched the very end of the Vandy game. Did y'all notice that Butch blew up on someone on the sideline long after the game was over and he had just celebrated with the team?

It was bizarre. He went from being happy Butch to wide-eyed veins popping out of his neck Butch and just tore into the guy.

And I'll be honest... I didn't care much for Muschamp losing his cool like like that and I can't say it's a good look for Butch either. Especially after a win.

There certainly are differences among jurisdictions, but I am in west TN. When I say these type of cases, I mean sex crimes, crimes of abuse, and even some older homicides are taken straight to the GJ. You are right that a majority of crimes start with an arrest in Sessions. One reason to take it to the GJ though can be to avoid a preliminary hearing.

Obviously, I don't know what will happen, but in TN, if a DA wants an indictment, they almost always get it. It is a one-sided process, and the DA prepares what proof to submit.
