I really feel like this is heading towards us hiring Lane Kiffin.

Before you shoot, hear me out. We're a dumpster fire right now, absolutely humiliated. If you're Matt Campbell, Willie Taggart, or (insert Up and Comer here...) do you look at our program today and think "Gosh, I wanna be at Tennessee"?

We're desperate for someone who can actually coach, and Kiffin is desperate for a shot to prove that he can be the man at this level.

Now, flame away.

There are PLENTY of hires that would be acceptable. Just not THIS one. This was the ONLY candidate that would have gotten this reaction and of course it’s the one currie goes with..... smh

Start a damn Go Fund Me to pay Campbell buyout. All volunteer fans get on social media & proclaim how much they would love for him to be the coach.

Or, show love to other possible coaches. Let them know they are wanted here.

I'm 100% in agreement. Can't have Schiano. I'd burn my diploma and everything UT if they hired him. As a parent of two boys I couldn't look myself in the mirror otherwise.

Fire Currie and Davenport, Promote Fulmer to AD and hire someone who cares about UT as Chancellor, and hire a winning football coach with morals. Let's rolll...

i actually agree with you. i think lane could actually handle this mess quite well. we know he can recruit and call an offense to the strength of his players. and he will probably bring some nice assistants in with him

Well Currie has very effectively made our fanbase nationally viewed as extremely toxic. Before there should have been nothing keeping us from hiring a solid candidate. Things have changed now.

Taggert, Sumlin,Venables, Steele or just be patient and try to hire a Pro coordinator...
Its too late for the recruits now anyway....

What a bunch of lies and BS that have been put out in the both old and social media. Nobody's going to know anything, don't trust anybody, etc. Going to be his total focus. Currie was just doing the Haslam bidding the whole time.

Nobody will ever trust a Haslam anymore, much less Currie. Remember this?

Interested to see opinions on this topic and I invite discussion.

For the record, I am 100% against a Schiano hire. I think the AD has really failed to do their due diligence in all this hire.

Having said that...

I think most of this reaction is emotionally rooted in the fact that Schiano is a huge miss from a football standpoint. People are just mad that we are about to hire another crappy coach, so we latch on to whatever we can.

To my knowledge, Mike McQueary claimed to have heard second hand that Schiano witnessed some lude behavior from Sandusky. That is hardly "evidence" and not very damning.

I think it would have been enough to keep me from hiring the guy, but we seem to have a lot of people convinced that Schiano is guilty of something and I believe that is a stretch.

My women told me.

Hubbs and company was loosing clicks and trolled everybody but didn't think he would cause this reaction. Kinda shows how passionate we are. We can wait for Frost now.
