I mean this is what we as posters like to do is speculate and throw ish on the wall. In looking at the current landscape the coaches we've talked to minus Petersen and i don't think he would leave there are no big winners or people that are grand slams.

Mike Leach wasn't going to save UT football from itself. Fulmer has the chance to do that and his plan probably doesn't involve some weirdo who likes pirates.

I hear ya. I'm just speculating here, obviously. But I see this as being a "FREE AT LAST!" sort of hire from the boosters and from Phil. They've had to sit around and watch their team descend into irrelevance for a decade.

A&M is paying Jimbo big, big, big bucks to come to College Stations. I think we're going to go bigger. It's the only move that makes sense. The boosters will be fired up to finally have a chance to use their money in a way that translate into Ws and Ls.

Yeah we know Chavis. Win now or else. We get it.

In case you haven't noticed we've kinda dug ourselves a little bit of a hole here. We are re-entering the search after running a 5 day "don't come here" advertisement on a 24 hour loop. Making the kind of hire that would excite you is going to be difficult.

They show you the same.
LSU, USCe, miss state.
All play hard nosed physical football.

Missouri is the only one that remotely plays with a finesse style that is winning and we know 7-5 ain't going to cut it in Knoxville.

The ADs over Fulmer wouldn't let him have the money he needed for some assistants. Especially the last OC, that continued on to Dooley and Butch. Hopefully Fulmer will not do that to the next coach. That's a good thing having him in place. A 2 year contract will be good if the next coach thinks Fulmer is watching his every move and dictating hires.

You don’t blowout USC and beat Stanford if you’re not “playing physical”. Their screen and flats game is an extension of the run game. It’s like saying Oklahoma doesn’t play physical football.

Players are physical, schemes aren't. Assuming a team will be soft because they like to spread a team horizontally and use the width of the field to create favorable matchups is lazy, backwards, ignorant thinking

Wonder if people would be up in arms if the Sumlin thing ended this morning and Leach's name never got brought up?

Currie did a great job throwing more gasoline on an already raging fire on his way out the door.
