Brett McMurphy is now on Memphis radio. He said Sumlin did something at A&M that hadn't been done in 60 years. He said that A&M thinks they are more than what they are. They aren't Alabama. He thinks Sumlin could take our job.

At this point, I would take 3 to 4 years of comfortably at 8-10 wins with a guy like Sumlin. Maybe he can get us an SEC Championship Game appearance. We need to stabilize again before we can go for the Big Prize.

I thought the Mullen folks wanted us to keep records in perspective.

He did this in the West against the likes to Alabama, Auburn, and LSU every year. And for most of his time there Ole Miss was also good. And A&M typically played quality out of conference games to start the year.

Sumlin > Mullen IMO.

Couldn’t agree with this more. Texas AM was an average team in the big 12...move in to the best conference in college football and they’re expecting titles??? Makes no sense at all.

He had loaded rosters and had several QB disasters after Manziel also. Comparing sumlin to butch is just like when people compared butch to dooley.

Is that not what this coaching search was supposed to be looking for? A better coach that could make us a consistent football team. This program is not currently ready to hang with the big boys. I wish we were, but the truth is we still aren't there.
