Question for you VN experts: Are any of our young LBs quick enough/coverage skills to play safety should it come to that? (Elliott Berry, Bates, Sapp?)

Gloomy words from coach Matthews at the end of last season now that we see our OL lineup.
"Unless they can make unattainable progress, neither of the two who played tackle in 2014 can play tackle in 2015 if we want to be at a championship level."
This team isn't at championship level yet. Even apart from the O-line, there is too much youth and inexperience. There is talent all over, but it's not that three-or-four-years-in-the-SEC talent yet. Depending on how this year shakes out, next year's team could push that envelope.
This year's team can still be an SEC East champion. It's got talent to burn. But it's going to take some luck here and there.

I agree. Expectations have been askew for a while now. 8-9 wins is reasonable to expect from this team. The play of the DL and QB can get us there. You don't have to have a bulletproof roster to win 8 or 9 games.
2016 will hopefully be the first year of many in which we're primed to make some noise. And that's all due to recruiting. It's amazing the job Butch has done so far in flipping the roster. We all went nuts when Hurd committed back in March 2013, but that commitment would have been nearly meaningless without the stacks and stacks of talent that Butch has assembled elsewhere on the roster.
