Not good that he had help to the locker room. Hope he's ok.

As an aside, did anyone else notice how much slower their practice is compared to ours? We don't even run the HUNH that often but we train like it's every play -- gotta be part of the reason these guys don't quit even when we have little depth. We're conditioned like hell.

Yeah might be a reason for a few of our injuries as well. It is great conditioning though

If I recall, our head coach pegged the FL loss as the worst loss of his career. If there is any single game he plans to win this year, I'd say it is that one.

Win?

A win is simply not enough gentlemen. We must go into their home, tear out theit spirit and stomp it into the ground, set the ground on fire, then urinate on it to put out the flames. Then and only then can we leave that cursed hell pit and celebrate a victory that shall be remember in Volhalla. :)

I had hoped to see better development over the off season

Me too. But it's a real tough situation. We can do 9-4 and it can be a really fun year. It's just a pit stop on the path back to greatness rather than another layover on the road to perdition.

Okay, so maybe "perdition" is a strong word for the Dooley years.

We will beat Florida and end the streak on my 53 third Birthday September 26, and i will sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME AND ROCKY TOP TILL THE BOTTLE IS EMPTY AND I PASS OUT ON THE COUCH, GO VOLS BUCK BAMA AND THE GATORS:rock:

Regarding our OL... I agree with others who've mentioned that CT may be a better run blocker than Kendrick. I also think Kendrick is a better fit at guard than CT.

But I think folks need to remember that last year, CT's problems were mainly strength and inexperience. He had no technique and no offseason strength. He has that now and should be improved. We also tend to forget that CT wasn't the only one screwing up last year.

What drove me crazy watching our OL last year is that as soon as one player fixed his problems we'd see the entire unit do well except for one who'd screw up the blocking for all. OL has to be a unit and screw ups were all over the place. We remember CTs most of all because he went against DEs who could kill our QB when he messed up.

This line is never going to be elite with our current players but they can be better. Hell they can even be mediocre or decent with experience and the right chemistry. Work together, contain your main and/or limit/slow him down, turn what would be huge screw ups into smaller ones and we will be better.

That all said, I can't wait until we can replace some of these guys with quality players we have behind them.

Bama was not game planning for a running QB, probably haven't even seen Dobbs. UK sucks. Vandy sucks. Iowa sucks. USC was god awful. Missouri's DL is similar to UGA, FL, and Bama.

Bama can't stop running QBs. They game planned for Dobbs, Aubbie, and Ohio State. The get gutted by spread teams. We'll gut them again this year from start to finish this time though. :)

"Saban asked the group, "What would you rather have: a great offensive line and an average back or an average back and a great line?" All the boosters said great line/average back. Saban says they're all wrong. He'd take the great back, average OL any day because to have a good running game you have to make people miss and average backs don't do that consistently."

I wish I had a more official source, but here it is:

I'll take Barry Sanders and an average Oline. Herschel Walker and an average line. Anyday all day.
