From the ESPN article:

Houston Texans' Arian Foster goes public about not believing in God

I wish the guy would just shut his freaking hole about UT. Geez.

Actually this points to a key factor in Fulmer's downfall. Not that Foster was the problem but Fulmer's attempt to use religion to discipline the modern athlete is incongruent to the secular standard at a state university. Voluntary participation is certainly appropriate but religion as a facet of team spirit and team discipline is regressive.

Edit: I hope this does not continue to be an issue in the CBJ tenure. The emphasis on professionalism, family, objective standards and excellence seems to be something that is serving as a cohesive theme for the culture change underway. It is a model of modern public success. Individually religion can certainly be a part of this, but it is inappropriate as a wider organizational principle for the program.

I've been to several services @World Outreach in Murfreesboro when Stockstill brought the entire MTSU team.

Bleacher report article:

The Vols have a known commodity in junior Marquez North, an ultra-versatile weapon in Alton "Pig" Howard, a receiver with loads of potential in Josh Malone, a matchup nightmare in Jason Croom—who's coming off an ACL tear suffered last December—and reliable sophomore Josh Smith.

Ummm I've followed the vols pretty closely. How did I not know croon tore his ACL???

As long as it's not mandatory, I have no problem with any of this. If you are forced to do something against your personal beliefs, it's wrong.

Foster is kind of like that guy who used to have this really hot girlfriend (7-8 years ago) but is dating someone even hotter now but can't stop talking about how bad things were with his old girlfriend. Sounds to me like he needs some professional mental help learning how to let things go.

Arian Foster is like the anti-Peyton Manning when it comes PR for UT.

I've got a lot of issues with what Arian is saying. However, and I must say I don't subscribe to ESPN the Magazine, why is this article running in the College Football Preview edition? Is there another article talking about the way coaches are using religion with their teams. Or is this an example of ESPN propagating an agenda?

I get the frustrations, sort of. What I don't get is why the crap he takes these opportunities seemingly every offseason to take a shot at UT.

He just seems like a bitter, unlikable, and extremely thin-skinned person.

I'm interested to see how teams play against Dobbs this year. He's no longer got the element of surprise. They're going to try to take his run game away, likely blocking off his right side to run.

I just hope the OL has gotten slightly better to block long enough for the recievers to get open and Dobbs to make an accurate pass. Hurd will likely be spending a lot of time chipping to help the LT spot.

So my neighbor is a scout team OL who told me earlier that he will have to face Kahlil this camp during 11-on-11 periods.

I laughed pretty heavily...

He looked about as thrilled as I imagine I would be if I went head to head with a Kodiak.

Condolences to you on the inevitable loss of your neighbor.

or he would have held the ball better if he hadn't got paid?

I'm just tired of him.

I am too. I'm probably too conservative and old school to get into it with anyone about the religious argument here, but for Arian to try and smear people and the university for trying to instill respectable practices in young people is irritating.

Whether you're a believer in Christ or not, his message is a good message...

Hard to have a more storied career as a scout team player than going up regularly against the nationally rated # 1 recruit.

Can't have it both ways...

Complain that coaches are paid millions while you are starving and they don't care

Complain when someone cares enough to take you to church

This kid loves UT, and is probably around 6-3, 295ish. He got to go the TaxSlayer bowl as one of only a few walk-ons.

Uhm you are an insider now! Do your job!

On another note it's my bday and loving the Von news and Vol gear rolling my way. Perfect timing with camp underway. Now I just need tickets...... Maybe coming later after relations 🙏

If you didn't know Disney was married to ESPN, you could certainly guess. This article is loaded with agenda-promoting propaganda.

Again, from my standpoint on a Volunteer fan forum, I wish he would keep his opinions to himself. He does nothing but inflict harm on the university.

And the religious and non-religious types on this board can keep it to themselves as well. Let's talk football and not that whiny SOB.

Maybe because we don't have a player named croon? I bet he could sing well though

Don't start with me Sam. Had a long week of airports and training more boring than you can imagine. Don't want to snap atcha:)

Yeah, I can see it being offensive to him. I can even see him being mad about it at the time. I seriously doubt I would give a crap ten years after the fact though.

Let it go Arian. You'll be a happier person.
