Blair was a failure but do we try the JUCO lottery again for the OL next year? I say it's possible depending on how this season goes.

Regarding the Oline concerns, does anyone remember us averaging 40+ pts per game the last 4-5 games with Dobbs at qb last year? Now you add Kamara with Hurd in the backfield along with Dobbs to go along with a fully healthy wr group.

Teams will be on their toes vs our offense trying to figure out which of our many weapons will be getting the ball every damn play.

Yes, the Oline didn't look good last year after replacing the entire line. All I'm saying is give them a chance to show they're a year stronger and more familiar with the system. With the playmakers we have across the board, I'm confident the Oline will look better, whether they actually are or aren't. JMO

Only if there is someone worth taking a shot on. Which I still think Blair was. He has the look of a dominant LT. His inability to seemingly use that to his advantage is a huge shame.

We have some talent coming up on this roster. I think we'll be in good shape where we don't need to scour the JUCO ranks in hope of a savior. I don't think Butch ever wants to have to rely on JUCO players. But you always take talented flyers if you think they can help you.

I hadn't seen this one posted yet. Hilarious!

So I compared the 2010 offensive line numbers versus 2014 and then glanced at 2011 numbers for perspective on possible improvement. I think anything lower than 25 would be huge.

2010 - 41 sacks
2012 - 8 sacks
2013 - 15 sacks

2014 - 42

As a side note 2007 we gave up 24 and 2009 20. If you toss out 2012's exceptionally low results and average 2009-2014 that would be 30 and a 28% improvement over last year.

One more addendum. Dobbs had 12 sacks in 6 games (5 starts) in 2014. If we just avg'd same stats as last year that would put us around 26. 26 compared to last year would take us from 117th to 76th. Not good but better.

Yeah, there are two reasons to take JUCOs. The 1st is if you have a hole in your roster due to poor recruiting or attrition. The 2nd is if there is a kid that's an elite athlete that had to go the JUCO route for whatever reason.

The OL situation is bad but I think it requires time more than anything at this point. It should be better next year so unless there's an elite JUCO OL (is there such a thing?) then they're probably better recruiting high school players and developing what they have at this point.

At this point, I would take "better" over what it was last year. But I get your point.

If our OL is even serviceable, I will be ecstatic. Dobbs can work with the OL being serviceable or average(however you want to say it) because he makes quick decisions once the ball is snapped, so he will be fine, IMO.

Damn. It would've been 60+ if Worley stayed LOL

I just found it comforting (somewhat) that simply with the addition of Dobbs we were more than 30% better. If the line and adding Kamara marginally improves the situation you could easily see 2007 level sacks allowed (24) results which was coincidentally the last time we won east.

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready for football
