In the spirit of doing something out of the ordinary for milestone posts, I was pondering that one which would be my six-hundred, sixty-sixth. I decided I'd go to the FF, open the first non-stickied thread on the page, and post-bomb it so as to not bring any bad mojo to the RF, as well as to be able to post number 667 here and not put myself at any further risk.

You're all welcome.

You should have gone in there and just said

"If we don't fire Butch Jones right now and hire either John Gruden or Jim Harbaugh then I refuse to attend any further games in Neyland Stadium!"

I bet you would have gotten at least 11 likes.

That's true...I was counting getting a ton over here for my effort, though!

So the gf and I were planning on going to Savannah for this upcoming weekend and see some friends, but she came home today and surprised me with 2 tickets and a hotel room in Knoxville for my 1st game against Alabama(yes she is awesome) . Pretty pumped. We are sitting in section QQ. Every time I've been to Knoxville to see a game it's always against UGA. Hopefully we beat the brakes off of them! Driving up from Atlanta area Saturday morning.

I call BS.
1. SC will be coming off a beat down to lsu & their season goals will officially be lost. It will be hard for them to get up for a 3-5 TN even w last year. Guys like Davis w NFL aspirations w be looking toward their future.
2. TN will be coming off a loss but our season starts next Sunday! Jones & company have shown they can lead this team & keep them motivated. Everything we want will still be in front of us! We are still playing for our goals & these guys are hungry to go bowling.

3. We are flat out better than SC. They dont have the 2ndary to play pressman coverage & dont have the Dline of ok,ms fl or bama. Like Ga they will get their sacks but we will make our plays also. Our D will eat them up.

Can you show me where SC plays LSU this year?

What's the risk/reward scenario if Butch fired Mahoney at the end of the season and poached the best available offensive line coach?

Could a new guy potentially make the line better in 2015 than they would be with another year of development under Mahoney? Or would the transition to new coaching schemes make it a wash?

I don't get why people are so upset Butch won't comment much on the play calling or coaching performance. What does he or the team gain from calling out a coach in public? Nothing. It may make us fans grin and have a face to blame, but that doesn't help a coach teach or play-call any better.

It really undermines the "family" atmosphere and goal of the team when a head coach calls out his assistants. Im sure Butch has chewed some butts in private and its not like the coaches are dumb. They want to win. They want to be good. Let Butch do what he's paid (very well) to do. If we need a change he'll make it.

Risk is Mahoney is a good coach with really poor linemen right now and losing him would hurt us with continuity.

Reward is maybe Mahoney is a bigger part of the issue than some want to admit and bringing in someone else would benefit us.

Bottom line, I don't think anyone will know which of those scenarios is true for a long time.

Last year good run game. This year bad. Same coaches. Different players. It's not the coaches. See easy math.

I was curious about something and did a look-see:

In the these three games, here are Worley's INT numbers:

2 Oklahoma (also a fumble by Worley)
2 Florida (also a fumble by Worley)
3 Ole Miss

In the close game to a good team:

0 Georgia

In the three wins Combined:

1 USU, ASU, and UTC (combined)

There was also a fumble by Worley in the UTC game. Of particular note was the Ole Miss game. It's easily the worst loss and the one with the most interceptions.

UT is 2-0 when winning the turnover battle.

UT is 0-2 when losing the turnover battle.

UT is 1-2 when turnovers are equal (ASU, UGA, and ASU)

It turns out protecting the ball is important. Who knew?

Just out of curiosity, how many games this year have we given up a strip sack, regardless of who recovered the fumble? It seems like Worley gets hit by that blindside DE every game.
