He catches a lot of flack, but I like the guy.

He makes fun of every team, not just UT. You can tell he's a UT fan at times, he just has fun messing with the fanbase. Helluva gig, he's got.

I think that's my problem with him.

It seems like there's rarely any substance with him. He's almost constantly trolling. It wears thin with me after a while.

He catches alot of flack because he practices sensationalist journalism and is unprofessional at times. I don't think the old journalism guard care for him as he caters to the younger generations (and I am not old).

I liked his first book and thought it was many of the things that we thought and discussed as college students following our favorite SEC teams. He is a smart guy to parlay it, but I don't particularly care for his act.

Yeah, I understand.

I try and listen to their show as much as I can, and I think his writing is a lot more trolling than his radio show. I don't read Outkick all that much.

Probably a fair point. I don't listen to their show a lot.

When I have, he trolls less but he comes across as fairly condescending and could stand to lose a bit of the attitude.

To be fair, I think that criticism goes for about 80% of newer talk radio guys. For whatever reason, they seem like they've been taught to pick a stance and argue it whether or not they really believe it (or if it even makes sense). Just pick a side and make an argument that drives calls, clicks, etc.

Travis and Will West are two hosts that I can think of that drive me nuts with that. Its like management has told them that people want manufactured arguments. Its goofy...but apparently pays the bills.

Granted, I don't like a Hyams/Wilkerson Customer Service type call in show, but the other type doesn't really appeal to me. Friggin' Cumulus.

Re: Clay Travis ~
Was introduced to him by his book On Rocky Top: A Front-Row Seat to the End of an Era way back in 2009. Well written in my opinion although knowing what happens now after the books ends with Kiffin and Dooley is a bit of a downer.

My wife is a pediatrician. We have an ironclad deal. If she tells me one of her pediatric awful stories, she has 30 seconds to tell me a pediatric happy story or she is put in timeout from sharing anything for one week. :hi:

That's actually not a bad idea. Although, we both do it as a matter of catharsis, just in different ways. I share my bad stories sometimes with her, although its often weeks or even months after I have dealt with them internally.

I've always understood that her telling me is more her needing to get it out than actually wanting to tell me.

We each have our ways of dealing with the bad juju we see/encounter in our careers.

Just figured that I would finish Coach Lawson's tweet for him.

God love her heart. The Oncology nurses are wonderful people and I believe there's a special place in Heaven reserved for them. The year I was on chemo would have been even more of a nightmare without the love and thoughtfulness shown by the Oncology nurses. I could never do that job, it has to take so much out of a person. With their help and encouragement, a lot of Prayers (and the chemo) I've lasted about 10 years longer than anyone expected.

She lasted about 3 years in oncology. It just got too hard. When her grandmother finally succumed to cancer the year after we were married, she couldn't take it anymore. There's only so much death someone can handle.

God love oncologists and oncology nurses though. There's a Oncologist, Dr. Eric Raefsky, that took care of her grandmother that completely changed my perspective of him. (I was a Pharm Tech for 5 years in a hospital). He was...not the most sociable person in the world, I'll say that but, when I saw his bedside manner in action with my wife's grandmother...that man had the heart of a saint.

As you should. I'm just saying I find him entertaining.

He was a lot more entertaining when he was writing about things like Pat Robertson leg pressing 2,000 pounds, now he's mostly just an idiot. Sadly, I don't think any of the good stuff is available anywhere anymore, pretty sure CBS took it all down.

Then again, that was probably in 2005 ish so you probably weren't reading him much back then considering you were in middle school at the time.

What are you talking about?

His website, Outkick the Coverage, is now raking in millions in ad revenue and is growing at a very fast rate.

I think his trolling is childish, but he probably wouldn't have gotten where he is without it.

The dude also has a hell of a work ethic, I'll give him that. None of this was handed to him. He pretty much built up his name and brand all by himself.

I grew up when George Cafego was still an assistant coach at UT. I remember reading about his comments to the team each year before the Vandy game. He knew that Neyland was hired to beat Vandy and he remembered his games against them. After going to games in Nashville early in the Majors era, I really started to dislike Vandy even more because even though we beat them badly they still screamed that we cheated and the referees gave the game to us. I also had a new Tennessee jacket ruined because one of the dirtbags poured black ink on the back of it as we were leaving their cracker box stadium. Others can do whatever they wish but I'm always going to be against Vandy. It's in my (Orange) blood.

Please tell me you rearranged his face.

Jimmy Graham declared a tight end despite playing 67% of snaps last season in the slot or WR positions.
