Couple things from UT QB camp, Guarantano update

Spoke w/ Jarrett Guarantano after UT QB camp wrapped up. Spoke highly of UT's coaches and said UT is definitely a place he could see himself. Said he had a personal convo w/ Jon Gruden and Gruden worked on his footwork with him.

Jauan Jennings also worked a lot w/ Gruden, he said, and continued to wow with his athleticism and improvement in QB mechanics.

Full stories from a variety of campers on VolQuest throughout the weekend.

Lawson is probably the most liked recruit that didn't pick us. Dude is almost part of the family without being a Vol. Hope he heals well, dude is a special player.

SN: Apparently I'm being stationed in Italy at the end of the month! Any thing to know from the VN faithful like...how am I going to watch the games?

There are websites where you can find these things

and I believe you can buy a sports package from one of their television providers. One of our UK fans has a sweet sports package from ESPN (IIRC).

Oh an enjoy Italy! What part are you going to?

The tension on VN is palpable.

I know. I wasn't offended by the comment. I just would like for it to go away. I took it as "your son's a good looking kid". Had he said it like that, no one would have said a thing.

We need to just move on. No harm, no foul.

I can't say EXACTLY where I'm going, but it's roughly an hour from Venice. Definitely going to be hopping some trains over to Germany on some of my weekends.

I don't think they are even considering him at QB. You might be talking about other QBs they offered.

Just the flurry of offers to many guys and they are having to try harder than in past years when it was just come and let us watch and then we will offer the one we want and a lot of the top guys fell over themselves to get there. Not happening quite like that this year.

I was stationed at Aviano AB back in 05-08 and had a great time. Normally SKY will have some American sports packages so you can CBS sports and ESPN. Also AFN Sport normally carries whatever games that are on CBS sports so you get to see most of the UT football games. Have a great time in Italy. If you get stuck at Ramstein, Germany trying to hop around Europe look me up.

Welcome to the board (posting anyways) 4 stars

Thank you from one vet to another.

lol I've had a "real job" for a long time. Just because my office was at home doesn't mean it wasn't a grownup real job. But yeah, this new one requires me to leave the house and not post on VN. :hmm:

I know, just yankin' your chain. I used the baldbiker mandated blue font so you would know i was joking.

Edit: VN not quite the same since you lowered your post frequency.

Which city?

Find a sports bar. Find out if they carry ESPN. Then make friends with them so that they will put on the Vols. Make friends with managers and bartenders. Worst case, bribe them. Educate some Italians about Volunteer Football. You will be 6-7 hours ahead of Eastern. So ou game will start 2-3AM, so you may need a backup plan.

Start as soon as you can, World Cup Soccer will be in full swing soon.

Venice and Florence are cool cities to visit.
Italian red wine is great. Most house wine are really good.
If you are single, I envy you. Italian women are gorgeous :hi:
