Are we really? I've actually travelled to Bangkok for some meetings and have not had Internet access. I'm using my phone for VN, with no data plan, so it's been sparingly.

I know the PM is being forcibly removed, and I have heard of some bombs, but nothing is affecting me at the moment. Up north, where I live, small earthquakes continue to rumble every now and then. All in all, we are well, but the nation needs prayer. thanks

I agree. It's going to be a long summer if all of our recruits are 5* and won't commit until NSD.

I'd be surprised to see another OL guy taken till Richmond does something. I don't think we see any DE news till Phillips does something. Closer to NSD IF any QB, RB, DT news IMO. If I had to pick a position we could hear something from commitment wise in the next 2 months or so it would be CB or news that Dews has been added officially to the 2015 class. I just don't see many spots that will work itself out anytime soon.

Summer news cycle is going to be heavily reliant on exciting news about the progress of newcomers.

What you failed to take into account is their systems/playmakers compared to Vick's. Stats arent everything. If any of those QB's ran a Power-I they would have similar or worse stats. Vick's best year his passing efficiency was better than most on that list btw

I failed to take that into account? Vick's team played for the National Championship. Are you telling me that team wasn't talented on offense with playmakers? Andre Davis was one of the fastest guys in football that year.

And yes, stats aren't everything, but Vick's stats, in a very weak conference, don't even come close to any of the other guys being discussed here. And I'd love to see those passing efficiency numbers you're referring to that are higher than Tebow, Newton, or Manziel. They aren't. Go look again. Not to mention the other 3 guys threw the ball a lot more than Vick did. And rushed for more yards, and scored more TDs. Against better competition.

Vick was as exciting as anyone to ever play QB when he scrambled, but no way on earth was he a better player than Newton, Tebow, Manziel, or others in college, no matter what metric you use. Exciting, but inconsistent.

I'd take Vick over Tebow. But Tebow did do a good job of staying within himself and letting some of the talent do the work. He worked so well with Urbz system. Little bastage.

I wonder if that couple actually attended UT.

Who cares?

I didn't go to UT either, but I was bred, born, and raised in the great state of Tennessee. I have rooted for our state school all my life because I have a great deal of pride in this state. I wanted to go to UTK for architecture, but went to TTU instead to pursue my career as an engineer. I always had a dream of attending UT, but you go where it makes the most sense. Just because I didn't graduate from UTK doesn't make me or anyone else less of a fan.

Whoa. Lots of touchy people on here today.

I didn't attend UT either. Like many of you, I'm a fan because of family tradition and proximity (grew up in Cleveland).

It was an honest question. I didn't know if perhaps they were both alumni, employed at UT, or just diehard football fans. It doesn't really make it clear in the article.

Former Tennessee Volunteer defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is bringing a fast casual chain hamburger restaurant to The Strip. Haynesworth, who went on to have a 10-year NFL career after leaving Tennessee, returns to Rocky Top for his grand opening at BurgerFi.

BurgerFi is a Florida based chain restaurant, and highly recommended by Haynesworth, who is opening the first BurgerFi in the state of Tennessee.

"I'm a big guy so I eat a lot and I'm not going to just jump on some place because I know somebody," said Haynesworth. "But the food is unbelievable. It's the best burger I think I've ever had."

The former All-SEC performer played for four different NFL teams in his 10-year career, and was widely known for his various off-the-field issues and signing a $100 million deal with the Washington Redskins in 2009. Haynesworth also played for the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

:hi:

I see what you're saying. By the way, I wasn't necessarily directing that post at you, but rather the argument I've always heard placing sidewalk alums beneath actual alums. It always comes across to me as an elitist mentality, which is one of the few things I really despise in life. I personally don't care where (or even if) someone graduated college. A piece of paper doesn't make the man (or woman).

Fellow Golden Eagle (Big Orange JV). :)

Grew up in East Tennessee where I ate, slept and breathed UT football. Went to school at Ole Miss and I'm still a die hard vol fan. My Jeep all through college and still today has my Ole Miss parking pass on the left hand side and a big Power T on the right. Obviously this is very confusing to most but I don't care. Go Vols!

I remeber how excited I was when I got my acceptance letter to UT. All my friends from high were going too. Then one day I received a full tuition for four years scholarship from a small private school in state. It was a hard decision but I chose to go to the school where it made the most sense financially. I graduated in four years with no debt and a job offer. The person who is now my wife went with me to that small school.

There are two or three games a year I always go to that I wonder what life would be like had I gone to UT as the team is running through the T. Then I look over at my wife with me and realize I made the right choice

I grew up an Air Force brat and lived all over the world but was raised to be a UT fan by two UT alums. I winded up going to UT as well. But I just got a random degree and eventually had to go to another school to get a graduate degree to enter the career field I wanted to.

I'm very proud to be a UTK alum but for a lot of reasons some people don't go or aren't able to attend UT, and that doesn't make them any less of fans. My wife didn't attend UT but she attends all the games with me and cheers as hard as I do.

I'm pretty sure Vick went pro after his true sophomore season as well, so there's that. Also, even though VT didn't play that tough of a schedule, they weren't exactly stacked themselves. I still wouldn't necessarily put Vick ahead of any of the other names mentioned, but if he had stayed another year or two there probably wouldn't be an argument against it. Vick is probably the best overall athlete to ever play QB between his obvious speed, agility, and arm strength.

I wouldn't put Vick up very high on my list. You guys putting him at the top of a list and leaving off Manziel tells me all I need to know. The guy set sec yardage records. More than any other player who has ever lived. Not in the weak acc either. I'd def take cam, rgIII, and johnny football over Vick. I'd take tebow too as much as it pains me to say it.

agree - Vick would be down a bit on my list as well - Young, Tebow and Manziel are in a different category imo - just for &%#$ and gigles I put together stats of their final year in college

Vick - 54.2 completion % - 9 TD's, 7 INT's - 1439 yds - 636 rush yads - 9 rush tds - 5.6 per rush

Young - 65.2 completion % - 26 TD's, 10 INT's - 3036 yds - 1050 rush yads - 12 rush tds - 6.8 per rush

Tebow - 70.1 completion % - 21 TD's, 5 INT's - 2895 yds - 910 rush yads - 14 rush tds - 4.2 per rush

manziel - 69.9 completion % - 37 TD's, 13 INT's - 4114 yds - 759 rush yads - 9 rush tds - 5.3 per rush

and those werent even manziel or Tebow's best years

imo Vick isnt even in the hemisphere of those QB's when measuring college performance

no he went at same time as manziel - after his RS soph year - you can't leave until you are 3 yrs removed from HS

Yeah, I got accepted to UT as a high school senior. But I had a girlfriend who was staying at home and a full ride to a local university.

Two years later that girl wasn't in the picture. I was ready to transfer and get out of my hometown, and UT was again at the top of my list. But I had met a lot of great people in Murfreesboro and was having a blast hanging out up there for long weekends each month, whereas most of my friends at UT had also transferred or plain flunked out.

Ended up choosing MTSU and loved it, but I would lying if I said I didn't wonder about what life might have been like if I had gone to UT.

I like what someone said about manziel being more of an improviser or something to that thinking... I don't remember manziel running a lot of designed runs(granted didn't watch a ton of full a&m games)... I always think of dual threat as guys that run a fair amount of designed runs.
