Just seen on Knoxville TV where UT police ran about 200 students out of Neyland Stadium for having a huge snowball fight on the field. Film that TV showed there were at least that many. The stadium gates had been left open by accident and the students left without incident.
Waiting for report that Knox County Sheriff's Department cited 150 students for underage consumption outside the stadium with several arrests.

j/k on second sentence.

It's posted on Facebook somewhere. My wife saw it earlier this AM.

5" and still snowing in Seymour.

Love Lagunitas beers...A Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale, Maximus, Imperial Red, Hop Stoopid and Sucks are all amazing beers. Lagunitas Sucks might be the most underrated IPA out there, that beer is about as good as it gets. Just a winter seasonal in 6 packs but should be out year round in 32oz bottles soon.

A friend of mine in Memphis mailed me some Yazoo beers about a year ago, Hop Project and their Porter called Sue. Sue was awesome. He sent me Blackstone's Adam Bomb IPA too which was also really good. Haven't had the others.

And I agree with you about Left Hand Milk Stout, that is hard to beat. Have 1 of those left in my fridge. You ever had Terrapin Moo Hoo? It's their chocolate milk stout, two thumbs up on that beer as well.

Left Hand Milk Stout is a top 5 for me. Not a huge fan of IPAs but we have agreement on milk stout.

I am ashamed of my state boys. I live in Florida. Jacksonville, actually. I saw and followed the Zimmerman trial. I was bothered by a lack of manslaughter conviction but that's neither here nor there. I have been busy with work to the point that I couldn't watch the news. Last week, I got wind of this new Jordan Dunn case where a middle aged white male shot up a car of four black teens in "self defense" just a few miles from where I live. This is twice in this half decade a major case came out of Florida involving a registered carrier shooting an unarmed teen. I am ashamed to pay taxes for this state. And I am ashamed of the prosecutors of this state.

/rant.

Your peers are the ones who didnt convict Zimmerman. Also, its your citizens who are shooting people, not your prosecutors.

I'm ashamed of it all. Prosecution in the Zimmerman trial did an awful job eliminating reasonable doubt but they didn't have the best to work with in terms of evidence. I can't blame the jury for that one to be honest.

You're right. It's the citizens and they are getting away with being an aggressor and claiming self defense after they shoot their way out of a confrontation that they created. Now jail time is no longer a deterrent. This guy in the Jordan case didn't even call the cops! He just went on his merry way after unloading a clip at a car of teens.

It's getting harder and harder to be an advocate of the current gun system. The argument was always "crimes and murders are committed with unregistered guns not the people with permits". Now, that argument doesn't hold as true as it used to in this State.

Don't get me wrong, I still believe in the right to own and carry a firearm. It's just getting harder to be on that side of the coin.

Maybe there's more to every story? If someone carries for years without incident and then something happens it's quite possible something happened to precipitate the event. People really run around on a short fuse these days. As far as carry laws, I always thought the 2nd amendment covered that. I wouldn't be ashamed of your state. If everyone treated others with respect we wouldn't see most of this. Don't want nothing....don't start nothing.

Great post.

Anybody know of a place in or around Johnson City with good craft beers on tap?

It's just a brewery (no restaurant) but I frequent Depot Street Brewing in Jonesborough. You can go down there, see how they make it and SAMPLE everything, play some bocce and take home a couple growlers or 6 packs of what you like. Other than that, I usually buy my beer at Libation Station in Boone's Creek. They have about all you could want, and if they don't, they will generally get it for you.

As far as bars, nothing much with that description since the Sophisticated Otter closed.
