All I can afford is PBR. But no shame in that...it's good for the price and MUCH better than Bud, Miller, or any of the other big ones. I'd much rather be drinking what you are Ron. I wish I had a few Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stouts...mmmm anybody ever had Sammy Smith beers?

They make a phenomenal nut brown ale. good stuff.

It seems having a drink as a beverage would be okay but using it like a drug (altering your outlook) maybe not.

Personally, I don't feel I can say that black-and-white the Bible calls drinking in and of itself in privacy is a sin as long as it's not to the point of drunkenness. But I also dont feel i can 100% say its not wrong. I choose not to do it myself as a personal choice

I'm a craft beer man, love me some IPA's specifically but on this cold night I might have a stout or two. Got some goodies this week...just picked up a fresh case of Nugget Nectar from Troegs Brewing Co out of PA. One of my all time favorite beers and it's a seasonal that just came out this week! Pretty excited. Also have some Breakfast Stout from Founders Brewing out of Michigan (that will go nicely with the weather). And once I catch a buzz if I'm feeling like another 1 or 2 I'll grab some Dales Pale Ale out of the fridge. Really excited that Sweetwater (ATL brewing co) is now available in VA, I need to go grab some 420 and their IPA, love Sweetwater!

What are you guys drinking?

Ninkasi IPA out of Eugene OR is the nectar of the gods. Fun fact, Ninkasi is the Sumerian goddess of beer. The Sumerians invented beer, I believe. Ever try that stuff, Ron?

I wrote this about 7 years ago. I'm going to post a link to my thought process, then Imma be quiet. Sorry for taking this thread so far off topic... Experiencing Reformation: Does the Bible Prohibit the Drinking of Alcohol?

I'm a big part of the reason. My apologies also volnation to those I annoyed. I do realize this is a forum devoted to football. I felt the compulsion to speak up based on what was being said earlier in the thread.

Carry on VN. Bring the pain Jakob!

I keep seeing the gyrations, but very few get to the bottom line.

It's the big party, that got louder after they were told to quiet down. Then it got violent in the parking lot. There are laws to handle that stuff. KCSD had to respond to the complaints. They had no choice. Then the partiers disrespected the law after they gave them a break. The deputies are human, they are not perfect. But they did follow orders and procedures. It is their job. I sincerely hope some of you trash talkers never need them to help you in an emergency. The officers would probably not know what you think of them and would just do their jobs to help you. That might be awkward for you.

I am not disagreeing with everything you said, however, a cop should not get his feelings hurt if he were "disrespected". Cops have been intoxicated before and have had parties before. They know everyone's not going to be on their best behavior. Malem prohibitum crimes and could just broken up the party and handled the fights accordingly.

Does it matter what denomination or non-denomination he is, if that's how he choose to interpret the bible? It's his faith.

I was raised Church of Christ and his opinions seem consistent with that. That's all. Was just curious. His silence confirms my suspicion

Haven't had that one yet but I'll look for it! My wife was out in Oregon for a work conference a few months ago and brought me back a couple good ones from out there. Descender IPA from GoodLife and Chasin' Freshies from Deschutes. They know how to make amazing IPA's out west that's for sure.

I am ashamed of my state boys. I live in Florida. Jacksonville, actually. I saw and followed the Zimmerman trial. I was bothered by a lack of manslaughter conviction but that's neither here nor there. I have been busy with work to the point that I couldn't watch the news. Last week, I got wind of this new Jordan Dunn case where a middle aged white male shot up a car of four black teens in "self defense" just a few miles from where I live. This is twice in this half decade a major case came out of Florida involving a registered carrier shooting an unarmed teen. I am ashamed to pay taxes for this state. And I am ashamed of the prosecutors of this state.

As a Catholic raised in west TN, many Church of Christ I encountered held the same beliefs.

As a parish priest said in a homily when describing what his Pentecostal grandmother told him when she learned he was becoming a priest: "We're all trying to get to the same place; we just happen to be taking different trains." Amen, sister.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
