Haven't seen a thread on this guy.

AndrewJBone: Mon 01:47pm Three offers for Lincoln lineman Jauntavius Johnson Three early offers #AU, #MissSt, #JSU, #Bama, #Tennessee

"I have offers from Mississippi State, Jacksonville State and Auburn," said Johnson. "I am also receiving a lot of interest from Tennessee and Alabama. I don't have any favorites yet.

Couple of things on UAB game in 2015...

I just received a copy of the contract. Tennessee will get 100% of the net gate up to $2,000,000. And they get 80% of any net gate that exceeds $2,000,000. Net gate is defined as gross gate revenue minus the following: $3 per sold ticket seat user license fee; credit card fees; UAB's game guaranteee ($925,000) and Music City Bowl hosting guarantee ($400,000).

Also, alcohol will be sold at the venue (some of you have asked that question).

I'm real surprised no one suggested Stoney River, Flemings, or Ruth's Chris for steaks. Also, I haven't tried it yet, but I am thinking of a trip to The Southern for the 10 year anniversary. I hear it's excellent.

That is really eerie considering I used to live right down the street. Ole Miss should have a fun time dealing with that.

I read that and instantly thought about the tutor in the blind side movie talking about the bodies under Neyland Stadium reaching up and grabbing people. If Michael Oher only knew the truth. :p

I haven't been there in a few years, but I'm never disappointed with it. I still think Stoney is the best bang for the buck that I've found though.

Stoney River is awesome, actually. Not much more expensive than Outback but a much better steak.

Fleming's is almost the same price as Kayne Prime, but the quality is hit or miss. I've had a steak that was incredible there, but I also had one that was pretty "meh". That's unacceptable when you're paying $50 for the meat alone with no sides.

Guys, please be careful if you are traveling tomorrow. There's going to be a lot of snow tomorrow afternoon and evening. Make sure to have fun in the snow, but be safe. :salute:

Non-football related, but I watched the Serrano presser from the home page here on VN. I knew he was a former UT asst and had led two different teams to Omaha when we hired him, but honestly haven't followed the program much at all since then.

I've gotta say he really impressed me after watching that and it sounds like this UT baseball team is about to start making some noise heading into year three under Serrano. It's obvious to see he has a very high baseball IQ and knows how to build a winner. He and his staff have had a plan since day one and he seems confident it's about to start producing success on the field.

He actually reminds me a lot of Butch. Proven winner at multiple schools before coming (back) here, seems to be good at being a CEO-type coach like Butch, is enthusiastic about being here, knows it's a special place, and knows this program has everything he needs to do big things.

His quotes sound eerily similar to Butch from the articles I found while doing a little research on his first two recruiting classes. You be the judge

Here's a quote from late Oct of '12 after landing the 20th ranked class (the first ranked class since 09) in his first year:

"I am very excited to see this class honored with a national ranking and rated ahead of a number of national powers," Serrano said. "It just shows the incredible amount of hard work that this coaching staff has put in since day one to get this program back to where it belongs. Led by the efforts of recruiting coordinator Bill Mosiello, they were able to identify a group of young men who are outstanding students, players and people, who want to be a part of our family at Tennessee and who want to help us win again.

"We have only worked with them for a short time this fall, but we have been extremely pleased with what we have seen so far. They are coming together quickly as a team and, although we know we still have plenty of room for improvement, we are confident that this group is going to put this program back in the direction it should be going."
Baseball Recruiting Class Ranked No. 20 - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics

Here's a quote from late Oct of '13 after landing the 15th ranked class. Which, btw, was ahead of both vandy and uga who had the 1st and 3rd ranked classes, respectively, in '12 (tells me he went toe-to-toe with the big boys like Butch and is getting some of the players those schools would've usually signed):

"I'm very proud of the fact that our staff has put together two top classes in our first two years," said Serrano. "It shows the trust that student-athletes are putting into our staff and system, which have a proven track record. Also, I believe it shows that Tennessee is a special place to attend and play."

"Our entire coaching staff did a wonderful job of recognizing and finding players that fit our needs as we continue to develop this program," said Serrano. "This class is filled with power bats, great athletes and some much-needed power arms. Those power arms will add nicely to the returners from last year's squad and give us the makings of a good, deep and quality pitching staff.

"The additional offensive firepower, speed and pure athleticism the rest of the players in this class provide will give us a very well-rounded team with great depth. We are extremely excited about this group of young men and feel that they will play a big role in helping us keep this program moving in a positive direction."
Baseball America Ranks Vols' Class 15th - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics

I think our football and baseball programs are definitely in the right hands for years to come. Just gotta find the Serrano/Jones of basketball and we'll be set :) Dave Hart did hire Serrano as well, right? If so, the only remnants of the Hamilton years among the big 3 men's sports is Cuonzo? Is that correct?

Apologies for the baseball post. Just wanted to give Serrano and the baseball Vols a SO. Now back to football.

Coug is at it again in the tweets thread. What does a picture of Levonta Taylor sitting in a chair have anything to do with recruiting?

I have no clue. I really liked that thread till recently. Now I just avoid it as a lot of things posted in there tweet wise has absolutely nothing to do with UT. IMO the tweets from 2014 recruits should no longer be posted there either.
