So throwing tempered expectations out the window, as I like to do when it comes to my Vols, imagine Malone having a Justin Hunter type freshman year. Pearson having a similar impact as CP in the receiving game and Hurd having a Jamal Lewis or Lattimore type Freshman season. All are rated as high and have the advantage over those guys by enrolling early and going through Spring camp. If that happens and the D improves with the upgrade in LB and DB corps then we could have a break out season. Lots of ifs but crazier things have happened.
That would be the perfect storm. Honestly, I would not be suprised to see Malone have an even greater impact as far as yards and catches go. Hunter was not as physical. He came into the program in the summer, whereas Malone will go through spring practice. He will know the system better. His routes are very polished. Plus, Hunter came into his own in the second half of the season. He ended up with 415 yards on the season. A strong campaign especially when you see he averaged 25 ypc. I would not be suprised to see Malone generate between 500 and 600 yards receiving.

Anything that equates to 7 or more wins, will be considered a breakout season, especially with our schedule.

From ESPN:

"In addition to considering a nine-game conference schedule, ACC officials have also broached the idea of a model in which conference teams would play eight league games and one SEC opponent every season, according to several sources from both conferences.*ACC teams already have regular games against SEC opponents, and sources say a possible schedule plan could expand that number.

Four schools in the ACC -- Florida State, Georgia Tech, Clemson and incoming member Louisville -- already have built-in SEC rival games during the final week of the regular season."

We could take Va Tech.....or UNC or NC State

Also they didnt mention vandy playing wake every year. This setup could s interesting. Moves a step closer to abolishing the NCAA or greatly changing the current system at least

I would love to get the North Carolinas back on the schedule (any of ’em). Or the Virginias.

Why are the Berry twins not rated higher?

They're both blazing fast and can play basically any position. Is it because they aren't specialized in one position yet?

They didn't camp and they were pegged as Vol locks...if they were Bama or LSU locks that wouldn't matter...but as we know :whistling:

I like the way this sounds. Could very easily happen. These new additions are very talented.

I wish we would play Notre dame

Other than “gets us on TV” what else does it get us? An entry into that rich recruiting territory of Northern Indiana? The SEC Network and ESPN3 are going to take care of UT being on television. We want to play games in front of kids who are going to play here someday.

I get the sentimentality, though. I grew up hating Notre Dame. But that was in a different era--back when Notre Dame wasn’t a second-tier school.

The reasons to schedule games like this is to get butts in seats, to get the right butts in those seats, and to make UT look good.

Would love to see this. I'd like to see every school play at least 11 big boy bcs type teams. Make it more like the nfl. I'd do an acc tour like this, big 12, and PAC 12 as well. Keep it at 8 games and then only allow one dummy game

Would like to see all the big boys playing each other. Would help to truly see who the best teams/conferences are.

Ok feel free to move this question to another thread, but I have some major concerns about a group of twitter accounts and I'm hoping someone can help me out. A few college buddies and I run a vols blog and twitter account and have run into the handle "at" tmjjones on a number of occasions. This guy claims to work for an organization known as CollegeBoundAthletics and also runs another twitter account "at" 15classvols. Now in talking with some other twitter guys we know for a fact that tmjjones has been reported to the UT compliance office, but we're not sure exactly what he is doing. He has a message up on his twitter bio asking recruits to contact him for "help." Now IMHO this guy is probably just some internet warrior who wants to rub elbows with college recruits to feel important, as many twitter members often do. What concerns me is what kind of help this guy and the CollegeBoundAthletics is offering. I asked the guy point blank and he said that he sends recruiting videos to the UT athletic department, but I'm concerned because if he is only doing this for Tennessee through an independent organization it is a major violation. Also if he is offering some sort of favoritism or benefit then he could cause some major problems. If anyone knows anything about this guy, pleas clue me in.

Your concern is good, but if a recruit is seeking "help", he will surely find it. Nothing you, nor I can do about it.
