So is my dad, and he's the world's most renowned food critic, according to my mom! Ha ha! I cooked steaks a few weeks ago when my parents came over and my dad hasn't stopped bragging about how good the steak was...I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Coming from him, that's BIG.


Dad was on the USS Independence and discharged in '73.

I was on the Indy! Stationed in Japan.

The boat was decommissioned years ago.

Small world.

Yes sir! As a matter of fact, the Christmas present my brother and I got him last year was a pretty big scale model of the Independence. It took like 4 months to arrive, finally making it in like mid-March.

He was out of Norfolk and spent time in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, etc.

That's great. Great memories of that boat in the early 90's.

As long as the turkey doesn't end up like the one Clark Griswold carved up on Christmas Vacation I'm good with it, but I pick ham everyday if given a choice.

Any of you guys ever been to twin peaks in cool springs?

Went last night & the waitresses were wearing their "santa outfits". Let's just say that place makes hooters look like a bunch of nuns.
