Recruiting Forum: Football Talk VIII

I think Justin Worley is done. We all know what our ceiling is with him at QB. Josh Dobbs is the future and this game only helped prove that.

One thing you have to remember. Connor Shaw isn't playing in the game. If we was playing, no way are they scoreless at this point in the game.

Well to be obvious about it the reason they're scoreless in this game is because Mike Davis is having a nightmare of game in regards to ball security.

From what I saw, and I am repeating myself, Dobbs has the better arm, is more accurate, runs better, and looked just as poised as you could ask for as a freshman. Play him from here out! He is the future...and I'm not talking about Kelly Washington.

I especially can't see Worley getting the start if he's not 100% on Monday. And I don't see how he could go from needing to be pulled because ofhis hand to 100% in 2 days.

Yah thats clear to most of the fan base but obviously CBJ is still stuck on Worley with the he's ready, will be ready, to go comments.

Have you guys already discussed us losing Randolph & BMoore to injuries today? If neither can make it back in time for next week do we go with Tino or Orta?

Pretty sure I saw Orta lay a nice hit on someone towards the end. Seems to enjoy contact, wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot.

This is also correct but not my number one convincing point to start Dobbs. Dobbs will give us a better chance to win from here out. That's my deciding factor.

There has to be some defensive backs who are better in the nickel, than Toney. Toney has killed us all season with poor pursuit angles and poor tackling.

Dobbs looks good. Seems to have a quick release and make decisions quickly. Still the game was not competitive when he came in. Not sure that his performance can justify him starting in lieu of a healthy Worley.

Yeah he had also a good hit (actually a block) in the UGA game on Swafford's TD return of the blocked punt. I honestly was waiting for a flag on that hit. I thought it was vicious. Maybe he is the guy we need if the others aren't available because I think Mizzou is a big play offense when it comes to their passing game.

Orta was who came in today, and I thought he did well.

I don't think Tino has even played all season. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But I think Lemond Johnson and Max Arnold are ahead of him.

EDIT: I checked UTSports and they don't have Tino listed as ever taking a snap in his career.

I can assure you that bama was doing everything they could to first, shut us out, and second, after we got the FG, to keep us out of the endzone.

No doubt about it, what Dobbs did today was impressive.

I think this coaching staff when recruiting Dobbs always knew he was going to be the guy in year two. He is they guy they wanted. The gem of the class.

Fergs surprised them with his competitiveness.

They have two great QBs who when given the reins will not give them back.

Dobbs got the first crack. Whether it was injury or because he had shown enough on and off the field it is his show now. Not exactly sure what coaches decision means.

And in the long run, this is a guy the coaches can build a championship team around.

Athletic, smart, hungry, and poised.

I worry about his size/durability and his leadership skills. These will be developed and proven over time. Hopefully he can take a leadership role right away and command the huddle/team.

It's an exciting time.
