Manziels story isn't written yet, but he's already blown tebows and newtons numbers out of the water. Fastest ever to 5000, 6,000, and 7,000 yards in only 18 games. It's ridiculous what he's doing.

Not really when you consider the rules that favor the ffense heavily. Also if you want to talk about stats, Case Keenum put stats that make Manziels look stupid. Manziel is an above average QB that without Evans would have pedestrian numbers. What he is doing has been done before. Oh and since you mentioned Newton and Tebow, so what he broke their records? They both won national championships and Cam went undefeated. Manziel has done neither.

Did keenum match any of this? Lol comparing him to keenum.

Almost all of those stats are because of his rushing. We're talkin about how he translates to the*NFL, so you can throw out the rushing. He doesn't touch Keenum's passing stats.

Lol at how big of a douche you are. Try having a discussion like a man instead of trying to belittle anyone that disagrees with your opinions like a spoiled kid. I'm done here

As freshmen? No they didn't put up those type numbers. If the numbers favor the offense so much then why isn't every qb putting up 7k yards in a season and a half. I respect all of you guys arguments about him cause I like to be prepared when it comes up in discussion at the barber shop. I'm not buying any of ya'lls. No offense. Seriously

I apologize then. I don't buy your keenum argument is all. Keenum could not run. He also couldn't put up 900 yds in 2 games against Alabama. Didn't mean to sound belittling. I don't see 3500 yards passing as almost all rushing either.

If Manziels maturity level catches up to his athletic level, then yes, he will have earned "character" respect. Up until now he has earned "statistic" respect. IOW, he's one hell of an athlete but as douchy as Marshall Henderson with his antics. If the kid ever grows up he will be a welcome addition to any NFL roster. If he maintains the "Johnny Football" attitude, kid will be caustic in a locker room.

I actually hate Manziel, I think he's a dick that doesn't respect anyone or anything. But, to say those things are on him is retarded Tebow and Cam had amazing defenses. Manziel put 50 something points on Bama's D after saban having a year to plan on how to stop him. I think all 3 of these players are the type that are all time greats in college but their games just don't transfer to the NFL to well. (even Scam Newton) But he's still been a beast.

Bobby Petrino fans should be happy - LA Lafayette is blowing out Western KY 30-13.

That's too bad. I don't like Petrino but I was hoping they would finish strong and make our beat down of them look a little better in retrospect.

Not a big deal though. I think we are going to beat a ranked team sometime in our next four games, so we will have a legitimate quality win here very soon.

IMO we finish by adding these positions:

DL-2
LB-1
CB-1
WR-2
RB-1

Plus the Berrys

Many have expressed their opinion we might take 3 more DL. That's certainly possible but IMO that's if we miss on a CB or Malone. I think we are done at OL

McDowell and Hendrix on the DL. That gives us two stud JUCO DL, one to play DT and one that could play DE/DT, and three stud HS DL, each playing playing their own unique position.

This might be outlandish but is it possible that EB has told CBJ to recruit the very best players available and if spots are filled he will pay for his brothers the walk on??!

This may have already been covered. If so I apologize

Cam had great defenses? He won in spite of that defense. They even give up 24 to UTC. But yes, Tebow had great defenses even with the Broncos.

I heard this rumor somewhere else a few days ago or last week. Not sure if it's true or not.

He could make no greater "donation" to the university in my opinion, but I doubt it would happen. If they lived in state I'd think it wasn't too farfetched.

Agreed on the donation part.

Disagree that out of state has anything to do with it especially if its only a one year thing. EB has plenty to cover the out of state tuition fee

And you know this how?

i was wondering the same thing - b/c it looks to me like last year he did do a lot of just running around of times but he looks much better this year throwing the ball

i am not a master evaluator of QB's but the only thing that would scare me about him is his size, not his work ethic or willingness to get better

I am sitting and listening to Inky Johnson right now...if we have 2 people on our team with this mans spirit we will beat USCjr. If we have 5 we will win out this year

I've wondered about this as well. Several posters have said that they deserve a scholarship--and I don't doubt that at all.

But if I were trying to build a legacy class or rebuild UT and there was a chance we could bring in another phenomenal player or two while I paid my own way or my family paid my tuition for a year, I think that would make me happier than getting a scholarship.

I think there was a quarterback several years ago who restructured his contract so that his team could acquire a few more players to help the team.

I'm not saying the Berry brothers should pay their own way (or that their brother should pay their way). What I'm saying is that it might dramatically improve a fantastic class if it did happen.

Can you imagine the fan reaction if something like this worked out? Getting the Berrys plus an additional two high caliber players?

Possible, but I would be very very surprised if this happened. That's just not something that happens in college football.
