Hopefully Ark can rough up a few of their key players for us kinda like lsu did to uga.

Also hopeful we get a few of our guys that are dinged up back. This bye week really couldn't have come at a better time for us.

Saw where Saulsberry is getting close. Hope Lane will be good to go too.

What do y'all think about Maggitt? I think if we dont see him vs usce he'll definitely redshirt.

There aren't many worse things than entering the bye week with a loss, in my opinion. That being said, I haven't felt this good after a loss in years. That's not settling; it's just an indication of how low this program has been.

I know many will disagree, but I don't think the DL problem is as bad as most think... minus Big Dan and Corey Miller... Who are playing some good ball.

We will have Jordan Williams, Saulsberry, O'Brien, Vereen, Lambert, Carr, Clark, Jay Miller, and Latroy Lewis.

I expect those first 4 to start next year with a rotation of Lambert, Carr, and Clark.

Also, that's not counting the freshman DL and most likely the Juco DL we bring in. Hendrix, Barnett, Henderson, and McDowdell (or whoever the Juco is) will add depth.

I agree! I actually think that with the addition of Lambert and possibly another juco DT this could be a pretty steady group next year. Vereen has star potential. Saulsberry and Obrien will be experienced.

Not worried about the offensive side either. With Marcus Jackson a probable redshirt and a experienced Kerbyson, Crowder and Wiesman I think we'll be just fine. Pair is capable at LT too, IMO.

i agree on the bye week - i think USCjr is a team ripe for the picking on an upset - just don't look good right now and we are coming off a bye at home in an early start

Another thing in our favor is I think Spurrier may use our game to let Clowney know that he will not be available to coach in the game at Knoxville. He's just not feeling it.

i actually agree on offense to - i think the progression/addition of the skill players will be far more important than any dropoff we see in line play

Few other SEC games, fwiw

A&M opened at -5 @ Ole Miss and it's up to -7

uga opened at -11 at home vs Mizz and down to -10

LSU opened at -6.5 at home vs uf and up to -7

bama -27 @uk

I was really pleased with Jordan williams the first few games.

Has smith and vereen coming back cut back a majority of his reps??

I don't recall him doing much the past few games.

Marcus Jackson redshirting this year is big, imo. Very smart move by this staff. They may be trying to do the same with Maggitt. I gotta give props to M Jackson too for putting the team first.

Yep, I don't think there will be much of a drop off on the OLine at all. The continued development of our QBs and WRs is the main concern. Pieces are there though, IMO.

On Defense...I think we could actually develope into being pretty nasty on this side of the ball come next year. Sutton, Vereen and JRM are all players you can build a defense around. Excited for the future!!

I think this is not just team first. Both could definitely improve their opportunities going forward with an extra year here. They should be standout stars their senior years.

The DL probably had its best game of the year...and maybe longer...this weekend (mostly in the 2nd half) but it came after Marshall was hurt, so I have to take that into account. Before then, Marshall was gashing us.

Aside from some contributors like Miller, Vereen, & O'Brien, who have really stepped up, I've been somewhat disappointed in the DL's performance, overall.

Don't get me wrong, I see improvement from last year but we lose contain (especially Jaq) FAR too often and running lanes are opened up the middle--where McCullers is supposed to be a force--with a lot more consistency than I expected.

Vereen and Miller are standing out but how Jaq continues to start over Vereen is beyond me...kid's a playmaker NOW.

However, we're generating a pass rush that did not exist over the last...well, way too long, and they've been opportunistic at times, making stops or sacking the QB just when we need them.

I'd give them a C, at this point. Inconsistency and lack of contain being their biggest downfall, but you can see that they're improving and have the potential to become a force in the future...maybe this year, maybe next.

Also, the fact that they are improving without the help of Couch and Saulsberry is big, IMO. Those two were going to be relied on heavily but, in their absence, guys have stepped up...that's encouraging.

Does anyone know how the network scheduling of games work? I am sure Tenn would much rather have a night game, but I am guessing we are at the mercy of the networks due to earning much more revenue being televised? TIA

Clowney won't play much if at all. Saving it all for Tiny

If Maggitt is healthy and in shape, we need him at lb badly. He could account for a W in November.

They pick the times. Who did CBS pick instead of our game?

We are halfway through the season. I would redshirt Maggitt. He deserves to play with 100% health. He alone on the field is not going to win games.

are Butch and staff spending most of this week recruiting since of the open date on the schedule??

Would be a good time to seal up some commits

He could mean the difference in a game if it were close and he's 100%. It's not like hell stay 2 years after this, so a redshirt is pointless.

When I went to class today my friends that are Florida an bama fans were all impressed with how we played
