Another quick example. I represented a young lady who was a nursing student. She filed a Petition for Order of Protection against her then-boyfriend who had physically assaulted her. He was a medical student. We did a restraining order (less serious ramifications than an OP) basically saying he could have no contact with her, or he would be found in contempt of court. He violated it twice. We finally sought and were granted an OP. He went before the Administration on code of conduct violations. The school was aware of all allegations and judicial results.

He's still a medical student.

Hoping then. Thought I’d read where it was always a temporary move. He’s been the best president in quite a while in this short sample imo.

Can't imagine UT won't keep him for the full 24. He's working for free and doing a great job-- all for health insurance and a gas card.

People need to remember that we are significantly lower that Mizzu, and lower than USCjr. I keep hearing "Pruitt should at least be able to beat Vandy, Mizzu and the Gamecocks or he isn't the right coach." I'll give you Vandy, but not the other two teams. That ignores that on paper this TN roster is worse that the roster's of Mizzu and USC jr, and 4 other teams on our schedule. 7-5 will be a good result this year.

It's not though, you can't look at media rankings and proclaim that the roster is worse. I've already done this exercise before, but if you look at the rankings of the players coming out of HS the only two SEC East Teams who have finished at or above UT in ratings the last 5 seasons are Florida & Georgia.

I point this out (again) because the only way we as fans truly have to "rate" a roster is by the HS rankings of the players on it.

I think the power rankings are a more accurate measure of the roster than just the recruiting rankings alone (which are one of many factors in the power ranking). After the guys get on campus and don't perform, at some point they were mis-ranked in the recruiting ranking, and those 3 stars at Mizzu and USCe are just better.

More accurate how? We're about to start a dozen or more NEW players who haven't seen any action.

The last 3 years against USC has came down to one possession. Two of which were poor coaching decisions by Butch Jones, "those 3 stars are just better" based on what? Power Rankings by media members?
Missouri is the only other east team that I feel like is still ahead of us because they've proven head to head as well as in Wins/Losses yearly that their 3 stars are at least playing above ratings.

Good news: Tennessee ranks 26th in Bill Connelly’s SP+ rankings.

Bad news: still projected at 6-6 because we play 6 teams ahead of us in the ranking.

Preseason SP+ rankings: Alabama tops Clemson

Where does it show his prediction of 6-6? Don't see it. His last prediction for us was 6.5 wins fwiw. Not sure if he adjusted a full half game for Gooden or something.

Edit: just found it in the conference breakdown. 6.2 wins. Also dropped from #21 since his last update.

USCe in 2017 was 9-4, TN went 4-8.
USCe in 2018 was 7-6, TN went 5-7.
They beat us head to head both seasons.

At this point you have to say they have a better roster, until TN proves otherwise.

Assuming since our AVG. PROJ. WINS is 6.2 that'd put us at 6-6, Oddly enough he has us at the same Wins as USC, more than Vanderbilt, Kentucky. If I'm reading the tea leaves right, that'd mean 6 wins and the USC being a toss-up.

Missouri benefiting from the softest SOS is likely why they are projecting near at 8.6 (which ties them at 4th in the SEC).

Woah. Hank take on fyre.

Don't argue imaginary circumstances but I know 1 of those 3 got another HC gig quickly, the other 2...

That’s fine but what he did at Florida was one of the worst coaching jobs I’ve ever seen. Spurrier won 11 games 3/5 years he was there. He took over a very good job at South Carolina. They panicked after they didn’t hire Tom Herman (thank god btw). He will he fired this year or next.
