I didn't get to watch the whole game yesterday, but what I did see told me a few things.

1. Florida didn't take care of the ball very well. That tends to indicate an undisciplined team. It was only one game but Miami wasn't very good, so I hope that turns into a trend for UF.

2. Florida is still solid in the trenches and will be far from a pushover. However, Miami was horrible in the trenches. Their QB looked like he was running for his life almost every play and the got very little push in the run game. Franks on the other hand had lots of time and was able to find receivers. If our DL can get some pressure on him, our DBs should eat.

3. UF is a good team, but #8 is laughable.

When you set expectations for college football, you assume at least one critical injury and at least one critical player getting in trouble/ being kicked off the team. Happens to just about every team every year. Bryce news disappointing but unsurprising at a big picture level. Hope he didn’t truly hurt anyone.

Whatever it is it was minor according to VQ

Looks like it was minor because he was arrested for verbal assault (which was listed as domestic assault). Doesn’t state anything about him hitting anyone. I’m surprised they even booked him on that if that’s the case. I would be surprised if it didn’t get dropped especially if there was no one harmed physically.

I think in Florida they give blue ribbons for this kinda thing. I mean he didn't even touch anyone. Mehlen would probably make him team captain for being such a great example.

Apparently he damaged some stuff in the dorm. Most concerning is the allegation that he threatened to shoot people. That's automatic expulsion for a regular student.

Vols’ football player charged with domestic assault

"According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson and a woman were arguing at the Stokely Hall Dorms on campus.
Thompson was overheard threatening her, and a witness saying he threatened to, “Shoot up the school.”
The responding officer also says damage to the building was seen, with a gate ripped from it’s hinge
This is a developing story and we will continue to follow this and update you with any new information"
Unfortunately, the "shoot up the school" is going to be a problem. Can we please just keep nice things?

It’ll be a misdemeanor from the sounds of it but if he threatened her and people overheard it, that’s gonna stick as domestic assault

Like some have said.. a game or two riding the pine, some extra workouts, and down to his last strike will be enough for me. Learn a lesson and move on.
You serious Clark? Ain’t no felony gonna stick on a young kid for running his mouth and snatching a gate off a hinge.

I'll say it again-- nevermind FL looks to be a total 'ish show with undisciplined players running the asylum, they are not as good at this point as some are saying just because of their D line. Miami has a younger, less experienced O line than we do, with a true freshman QB that was starting his first game... and with some luck and referee winking, barely won by 4? Our overall discipline play alone gives us a leg up. Yes, I know they will improve and clean things up before we meet, but I am not really impressed... #8...whatever...If we improve, stay healthy, and play solid disciplined football, we have a legit shot at beating these fools.

I’d guess he’s probably gone. If he denies the shoot up the school comment or clarifies and anybody believes him he might get a second chance, I kinda doubt that though

*edit: as I see more evidence and think about it further I think he will be fine. Easy to over react

Yeah that's the only thing that's worrisome. But saying something stupid in the heat of the moment is much different than having multiple texts and social media posts and constantly talking about it. Still should be taken seriously though.

one week....one flipping week to go....
