Kansas also still had their big-timer Azubuike on the floor when we played them. Little details like that seem to elude the "experts" that put all this crap together, they all seem to be know nothing know-it alls to me.But we didn’t. It still stands currently that our only 3 losses are to teams that were ranked #1, #5, and #13 at the time we played them, 2 of those were in OT, and 2 of those were true road games. Also, all 3 of those teams are still in top 15. This team is getting no respect. Hope they have found their mojo and continue to play on both ends of the court with the physicality that they did yesterday.
We beat the ever livin stink out of UK...and we still have not played our best, most complete game imo...Yes Bone went off, but Grant didn't shoot well from the line, or the field in the first half, and Admiral, Alexander and Bowden contributed little on the offensive end.But we didn’t. Speaking of which...I have to respect Kansas for keeping it together despite losing UA...I shudder to think what our record would be without Grant Williams...I sure as heck don't think we would be playing as well as they still are.Kansas also still had their big-timer Azubuike on the floor when we played them. Fans are going to complain about the refs. You act like that's outside the norm. We all remember the egregious calls because we feel like we are getting the shaft. The 7 maxims talk about overcoming bad breaks. The fact of the matter still is that elite players and blue blood teams get the benefit of the doubt. It's very obvious. I can definitely see the conference office telling a crew "emphasize this." The problem is that it seems that they tell them to watch what we do well and it inhibits our defense. I'm not paranoid or delusional but it is tough to overcome. If we face a blue blood in the tournament, we are going to have to overcome some biased officiating. It won't be blatant, but it will be there. And, we will overcome it.That’s what every fanbase says too.
I mean this fanbase(including you) was melting down both UF games over calls, one game we had 3 more fouls, the other they had 4 more fouls. When you complain about refs EVERY SINGLE GAME and make up these ridiculous conspiracy theories, it takes away from when the refs are actually so awful and biased (like LSU/UK game). It gets ridiculous when 15 of the 18 pages on gamedays are just complaining about the refs
To me it sounded like he was egging him on. You know like reverse psychiatry or somethingJust rewatched the end of the game again. That CBS announcer said as Admiral broke away “don’t do it, don’t do it”. I can’t stand the non-stop bias against us from everyone. It’s frustrating! Don’t slam it to cap off a huge butt-whipping...don’t do it to my beloved Kentucky blue blood program. Whatever, man! If UK was about to dunk it to cap off a big game like that, the same guy would be saying “send it in and put an exclamation on this win!”
If people like it, I have nothing against it. I just don't like it there. I have to go there all the time and have found nothing redeeming about it. It has no culture, cuisine, nightlife, or identity to speak of. There are about three (3) blocks downtown that have any sort of charm, but almost every West Tennessee town has that. If I lived in Milan or Brownsville, and was scared shitless of Memphis like those people seem to be, maybe I'd see it differently. I am thankful that is not the case. What do you got against the Hub City. It supports all the rural communities with better jobs and things to do on the weekends.
Bingo! Everyone seems to forget that our loss to Kansas was against a completely different team than they are now.Kansas also still had their big-timer Azubuike on the floor when we played them. WrongThe 2 finalists of the ACC tourney (if it's UNC, Duke, and UVA) will get a #1 seed.
Gonzaga will get a #1 seed. (Because they've played and won against top tier talent, right?)
And if the SEC tourney winner is UK, they'll get a #1 seed, if it's UT, they'll find a way to put UT as the top #2 seed.
People go to Jackson because it is closer than Memphis. Ain't nobody scared. Everyone packs heat these days. Look on a map at all the surrounding communities around Jackson. It supports all of them with jobs, stores that are not in there town, restaurants, ect. So lots of people would think your opinion needs to be kept to yourself. If people like it, I have nothing against it. I just don't like it there. If you haven't had enough of seeing the Vols pants Kentucky in Basketball, might I suggest the following from LWS?
If you haven't ever listened to John Ward call a basketball game, you should treat yourself. You also get to see Ernie Grunfeld's unusual free throw motion, where he appears to squat for a s**t before releasing each shot.
(Also, is it just me, or does the court at Stokely look really narrow?)
