Duke isn't inflating his draft status or his shoe deal size. All those would be the exact same if he had been allowed to enter the draft our of high school. Duke IS making a fortune off higher ticket prices, jersey sales, higher TV ratings that will pay fruits in future TV deals, video games rights, etc...

You're right the NBA is forcing him to play a year before entering the NBA. But using him and this situation to defend the blatant extortion and hypocrisy of the NCAA is ludicrous. In no other industry in America is the value added to the organization by such a small subset of employees so much greater than the value they get in return. And on top of it, what relatively tiny return they do get isn't even in cash form. The fact that people defend it is incredibly disappointing, un-American, and flat out irrational.

If your industry decided to only pay you in room and board and free classes for your first 1-4 years AND prohibited you from working any job anywhere else for actual cash, people would literally rise up and murder those in charge. And most of those people wouldn't individually add a fraction of the value football and basketball athletes add to their schools.

Don't agree, and I am not surprised. In my industry, I had to get two degrees and still pass a test to make money. In year one, I had classes from morning to late afternoon to PREVENT me from working. If I did intern work, it was on an hourly basis because it was unethical to split any of the fees from the clients.

If you think Zion, Trae Young, Ja Morant, etc. would make the same out of high school than after their college year(s), then there isn't anything else to discuss. I just don't believe that to be true.

That's cool. Will it be older games?
Not sure they've released any details but currently game pass has a mix of old and new games, including all Microsoft exclusives like Gears, Halo, Forza, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, State of Decay, etc.

I am in Germantown and go to the East Cork’s location. I don’t venture to any other places. I believe they are owned by the same family as Joe’s in midtown, so that is an option in the city.

As you know the options won’t be better than other parts of the state, but Corks has a decent variety. We are starting to get more regional beer but still not much from Middle or East TN.
Buster's is the biggest and best liquor store in Memphis as far as I am aware. It's no Frugal MacDoogal, but it has plenty of variety in beer, even from Middle and East TN. In CY, there is a place called Hammer & Ale that sells growlers and has a tasting room. On Highland, there is a place called the Casual Pint. It has a wide selection of bottle beer for purchase, plus beers on tap. I am pretty sure it is a chain.

SICK what do you play?! I'm still rocking my trusty ole 3570k @4.5ghz with my 970gtx on a 1080p screen. Planning on a new build later this year :)
not directed at me but...

It just depends. Destiny 2. A little Athem last week. Elder Scrolls. Apex.

One thing I really hate about PC these days is the fragmentation caused by all the different game stores. I hate having 6-7 different game launchers.

I knew they had went through the rebranding but didn’t know they were going to franchise. Good stuff.

Well, I may have misspoken. They may not be "franchising." They partnered with KWC to open stores outside of Memphis. Even though Central is doing well, I am guessing their owners didn't want to dump a bunch of money into it themselves, so KWC is providing the capital. They are just using the Central brand and name. Corky's tried some stores outside Memphis, and I remember the one in Knoxville when I was in college. It didn't go well for them.

When was the last time you were outside?

I most play singleplayer stuff. In the past two years or so I've played through Dark Souls 1-3, Witcher 3, GTA V, Fallout 4, RE2 Remake, KOTOR, and a few others.

Good stuff. I'm into League of Legends, RPGs and strategy games. Yeah, it's a growing concern for gamers. Steam is still the best platform imo, but they take a pretty big cut from the sale of games.

Forgot about Buster's but I don't venture to that area. When I said Middle and East TN, I was mainly referring to the breweries that have become popular there that don't get distributed to us. I don't drink much of Yazoo, Jackalope, Fat Bottom, Tailgate, or Blackberry Farms. I would bet that Buster's has generally the same offerings as what I see in Germantown.

Who else is hyped for Death Stranding? Kojima-san has been letting people play the game, and apparently it's mindblowing. I need a 4k TV once it's released.

The Metal Gear Solid movie should be amazing as well, but I'm not sure how you can condense the elements of even one of the games, let alone all 5 MGS games, or the original 2 MG MSX games, into a 2-3 hour experience.
