looks like Pruitt is having a press conference today and is expected to address the staff changes and assignments. Anyone know what time it is ? I am assuming the usual noon time spot, but not sure ?

In terms of the current team, it continues to about getting bigger, faster and stronger. Several Vols have earned some praise for their work since the start of the spring semester including freshmen Wanya Morris and Jaylen McCullough. Redshirts Cedric Tillman, Cheyenne Labruza and Ollie Lane have been singled out for their work ethic as well.

Both Marcus Tatum and Jamir Johnson updated their size on social media. Johnson is on the cusp of 300 pounds, which has been a huge goal after playing last year closer to 250 than 300. Tatum weighed over 300 pounds last season, but now he’s up to 312 pounds which is the heaviest he’s ever been. With the signing of what most believe is the best OL class in the country, the competition on the offensive line should be better starting this spring. With Chance Hall’s career offer, Drew Richmond transferring, and Trey Smith’s career on hold, opportunity is there for anyone in the offensive trenches.

In terms of getting faster, linebacker Daniel Bituli ran a sub-4.7/40 10 days or so ago. Bituli’s time is note worthy. Heralded Dallas Cowboy rookie middle linebacker Leighton Vander Eschran a 4.65 a year ago at the combine.

Speaking of linebackers, the question is where will Jeremy Banks play this spring? Pruitt has been non-committal about it to this point. Given the running back group features Ty Chandler, who is definitely bigger, Tim Jordan, and Eric Gray coming off of shoulder surgery, it sounds like Banks is likely to remain at running back at this time, per talking to multiple folks.

Question regarding Trey Smith, from a numbers perspective, let's assume trey Smith can't go this year, can he be place on a medical scholarship and not count toward the 85 and then next year, assuming he's cleared to play be place back on an athletic scholarship?

I have friends in SC, actually I’m visiting them this summer. They talk all kinds of smack. When I first met them in the Dooley years, I was shocked. Like “do you not know that we are Tennessee and you are South Carolina? Be gone”

Not to get too doxxy, but I have a colleague who went to USCe, and he was recruited from another part of the country to play an Olympic sport there. The past couple of years have been absolutely unbearable having to put up with this Gamechicken. They don't even care that they're still not, and never will be, competitive with the likes of UGA, UF, Bama, AU, LSU, etc...Just getting one over on UT completes their existence, it's almost like the smack I'm hearing from the Vanderbilt crowd.

I work with tons of UGA grads, and even a couple of Gumps and Barners, and sure there's lots of banter, but we all know how the natural of the SEC order should be,. We understand things are cyclical, and that UT football will be back where it needs to be soon. But I am telling you, the vitriol from the USC fanbase is incredible, because they know that UT's ceiling is competing for SEC and National Championships, and the USCe ceiling is a 9-win or 10-win season.

Not without some sort of appeal

Once you go on medical $ you can't play at that school anymore

Figured this, it's why Trey isn't on medical.

With the other guys they pretty much knew they weren't/can't continue to play. Even if they tried the production would drop.

With Trey's condition he can legit still go near full out and see limited effects on the field. But you throw a clot in game... that's it. He's kind of lucky to be here since his health is closely monitored, this is often one thing you don't discover until too late.

Simple: I expect the natty. Anything less and the team underachieved.
Don’t bring that evil in here. Don’t throw that on a TENNESSEE team that has already reached heights never seen by their predecessors. Don’t get me wrong, this team is nowhere near finished with this season.

Natty = natural light...beer so cheap and nasty that I would go without if that’s all I could get.

SIAP but the comments on that TN Football thread are hilarious. We are more realistic than I imagined.

Cucker needs to stfu. No wonder his wife is travelling around Spain. He prob bugs the **** out of her with that god awful humor.

Seriously, Will West, Hooker, Wes Cuck, and Mickey Dearstone were all formed out of same Vinegar and Water solution.

Overall, this shows the anemic offense we had, especially at the beginning of games. Put it this way, we didn’t even score 2 touchdowns worth of points in the first quarter of our SEC games. Also, were outscored by 127 points in those games.

We all know why, but now I has the sad.

Agree, however, several of us pointed this out repeatedly during the season. By the second half the D was tired and there was not enough quality depth to hold up. Amazing that CJP's D finished the season Top 50 in total D with the mess the O was in the first half of games.

Anybody using stats of JG's to make a case for him being better than advertised last season is clueless. His inability to make pre-snap D-reads as well coverage reads as well as statute drop backs caused a poor O-line to look even worse. Helton was equally complicit because he did not tool the O to simplify the role for JG and make good play calls. Just like other OC's in Butch's time - Helton ignored quick slants, RB swings, and TE throws that would have taken the pass rush pressure off in most of the games. Either Helton did not trust JG to give him full authority to change plays at the LOS, or, JG just did not do it. We know from Kerbyson's past comments that Dobbs was given full authority and simply would not do it. JMO, you take away Dobbs ability to run and the 9-4 seasons would have been 6-7 or 7-6. JG has not exhibited running ability or pocket mobility in the past, so we see 4-8 and 5-7.

I believe all that changes with Chaney and JG will be much more productive this coming season.
