OT but I go to court this afternoon to finalize the custody ordeal with my kids. Child advocate service said they’re going to recommend they stay with me. Kids haven’t been supeanaed so they won’t be there but they don’t want to go back to live with her.

Since I’m such a nice guy to all of you, was hoping you’d wish me luck and send some positive vibes my way.

Best of luck.

I look at it in I always want to be in top 15 average over 4 yr period with at least 1-2 preferably 2 of those years being inside top 5/10. Oklahoma was last team to win a national title that didn't have a top 10 class 2 out of 4 yrs in a 4 yr cycle per what clay travis said yesterday.

I didn't take Pruitts OC comments as literal. He just didn't want to answer the question and people kept asking

I think you are right about Pruitts comments.
Problem is we fans don't do well with that.
See "champions of life" for proof

As far as the ranking go your post makes a lot of sense as well

Getting Gray and possibly Crouch is potentially program changing IMO. I am getting more optimistic about this class being a legit base to build a championship program.
Check out @utlockerroom’s Tweet:

I don't know who @utlockerrom is but either he has not seen many good high school running backs or Gray is truly elite. I watched some of his film and it's hard for me to tell because I am not sure about the competition. Coming into UT and being a program changer would put him in the company of some really good backs that have played there. Webb, Cobb, Henry, Garner, Lewis, Graham... some of my all time favorites. There have been a lot of other good backs as well but I remember these guys being able to run thru tackles. I can only hope that Gray is this type of runner.

A current head coach right now in college told me once that an ideal recruiting class you should get:
At least....
2 starters
3 instant 2 deeps
And 3 Players who can contribute on STs.

I’d say this class already checks that box.

Surely he meant to say a few more that develop into contributing

I would surmise that is dictated by how good your current roster is so for us those returns are not so hard lol.

That's a point that gets brought up a lot but there's very few examples of grad transfers actually doing any of that. Why would a team change culture just because some guy who probably wasn't playing much on another team is gonna be there on a one year rental? Grad transfers aren't a good way to change a culture imo. They rarely even contribute. They are more often than not just depth bandaids that get over hyped. Which is what we had last class. Maybe it was good we got them but imo the contribution they made was worth far less than the spots they took. At least Kennedy gets a second year but still that basically turned into a one year rental after the injury. Hopefully he makes enough contributions next year to out weigh it. But grad transfers rarely live up to the hype.
You just showed that you don't understand what is meant by changing a culture. It does not have to have anything to do with game contributions. It's about how they go about their business..in the weight room, locker room, film room, practice field. How they respond to getting coached hard.

Dude if we close out with Crouch & Wright we have the 10th best class. TENTH in the country. We have gone 4-8 & 5-7 in the last two years. This is an amazing testament to the power of the brand and this coaching staff. Anyone who grades this class as less than an A if we close them both out has a deflated head.

It’s a bit of both tbh. It’s hard to really lead and be the voice in the locker room when you aren’t playing.

Speaking of child custody issues, I may have missed something with the thousands of repetitive cycle of elation/cautious optimism/dejection posts associated with the OC search and ESD, but has @PassedOutAwake given an update on his situation. IIRC he had a court date on the 17th or 19th and was hoping to be headed to God's country, kids in tow, after that.

yeah. without field presence you're just noise to the ones that are. it's not anything against the off field guy but it's harder. not impossible. but harder.

Yea, I'd say we are doing ok by that metric...just my opinion, but I think the below names will make a solid foundation for this class (Keyton RS IMO)

Potential Starters (at least in the 2 deep IMO)
Wanya Morris
Savion Williams
*Crouch
*Wright

Have at least a chance at the 2 Deep IMO
Gray
Burrell/Fields
Beasley/McCollough (Definite ST's)
Chris Akpo
Roman Harrison
Middleton
Lowe

She hired an attorney on Friday, so the court accepted her continuance so they can prepare. New court date is January 16th. So more waiting...

There is some of that. But it's the pack mentality. When you don't have many doing it the right way then the more you get in the building that are doing the right way the better. Chances are somebody is going to see that and respond to it. Plus they are insurance policies as backups. The argument of were they wasted scholarships goes being looking in the statbook. I don't know the inner workings of the team so I don't know hire effective they were in those regards. But I know that was part of the reasoning on the front end. And as a coach that till over a program (basketball) and spent the first session establishing a new culture I can tell you there is merit to the idea.

Seeing that post from Clay Travis would make me take him even more seriously about "news" out of the UT program because I would imagine his "source" (or one of them) is most like Brad Lampley (VFL, father of Jackson, and Nashville lawyer) who is still active around the program. Also, the same could be said for Brent Dougherty (Nashville sports radio personality) who is connected to the Lampley family as well, according to his radio show.
