The more days pass without an announcement, the more I lean to being a coach thats still playing football... albeit NFL or College

Briles should have been interviewed a week ago if CJP was interested in him. Something tells me somebody went south in a hurry.

So... Auburn can't hire Freeze, Bama isn't hiring Freeze it doesn't appear, and FSU isn't hiring Freeze. Clearly the Freeze noise was from his people and he was not a serious candidate here.
What I'm curious about is whether Freeze over estimated his chances here, stalled, allowed JP to do more digging, who in turn uncovered something that either Freeze hasn't been forthcoming about or completely omitted. And whether that is why other programs have cooled significantly on him now...

The farther away we get from potentiality hiring Freeze, the more comfortable I am. If he still has skeletons in his closet, let another program take the heat if/when they hire him.

We should be more jaded, not more gullible.
It's hard to argue against being skeptical or taking a "prove it to me" posture, it really is.

Personally speaking, I enjoy most every sport...especially team sports...and I follow my favorite teams enthusiastically and faithfully. At the end of the day, however, it's entertainment and enjoyment to me. And as disappointing as things have been at UT over recent years, I still want to be an eternal optimist as I enjoy it more when I am.

I'm afraid if I become too jaded, the enjoyment...even in good times...will be minimized or affected and I simply don't want that.

Admittedly, if I was a donor or season ticket holder, I might very well look at things somewhat differently. But, I still feel I'd be as big a fan as I am now and would look forward to each and every game....and each and every fall...they just wouldn't get as much of my money.

I guess the best way to explain it is my favorite teams will always have my fandom from an emotional perspective...but perhaps not financially.

UTAD will NOT hire Briles with a $800,000 buy out when he could have been interviewed/hired 1 week ago without the buyout.

Edited for clarity.
