This is from last year when Notre Dame fans thought he would be leaving to the the OC job at Alabama: Chip Long To Be The Next Offensive Coordinator At Alabama?

Regardless of the opinions of some Notre Dame fans, Chip Long is a rising star in the coaching world and is looked at in a very favorable light. After averaging 39 points per game with the Memphis Tigers in 2016, Long ran an offense at Notre Dame that averaged 34 points a game against the nation's second toughest schedule. It also saw a resurgence in the Irish running game that we haven't seen since the 90's.

Don't know that he would leave or why.

He has coached with David Johnson at Memphis. He played at North Alabama and a Birmingham native. Very possible he and Pruitt or someone else on staff knows him

Fulmer was in NYC for the Hall of Fame ceremonies I suspect. You know, hes in the HoF and all. AV may have even been the one that shuttled him there and back.


I said yesterday that they very well could have who they want. Just waiting on Phil and JP to get back in to finalize everything.

Probably already been said as I’m trying to catch up, but this is GIGANTIC news!! My fears have calmed. We are good boys on whatever they choose to do. I’m good with whatever hire. Being that it comes from LWS, then it’s 100% accurate. He even has a positive tone to the post. That’s huge coming from him.

Then just let the dude be wrong. Every time he’s wrong y’all feel the need to stick up for him, and give assurances that he really does know what he’s talking about. “It’s a fluid situation”....lol. My point is he knows as much as the rest of us.

1. Contract @ ~900k up in 2018
2. Rumored to not be happy with not being able to coach QBs.
3. We just happen to have an opening for an OC, QB expertise prefered..
4. We can definitely bump his salary...
