I haven't been paying close attention, but are y'all saying Rome is a dangerous place to travel? I've never been to Europe, and we are planning to go to the Ryder Cup in Rome (and see other parts of Italy) in 2022.

No Rome is a fantastic place to visit. Naples on the other hand..ehh wouldn't spend much time unless passing through to Almalfi Coast. For your first visit to Europe it is very hard to beat Italy as a whole when you can scan the majority of the country in 4 hours or less on the high speed train system. Great food, culture and obviously its about as good as it gets from a historical aspect.

These soccer fixtures bring out the worst of the hooligans and its not the normal behavior in most areas.

People are pretty optimistic... probably a bit too optimistic regarding Auburn, but generally happy with the fight

I haven't been on VN since Friday evening, so that is good to know. I thought the team looked better overall compared to the FL game chaos. QB protection was much better, which was good to see. IMO, this was one of JG's worst games so far. I think he missed several throws and left some plays on the field.

That fumble recovery returned for a TD...immediately thought, "most Tennessee thing ever."

Coming off of a bye will really help us against Auburn. They are definitely beatable, but their defense is for real.

I got to Rome once every two years. It is wonderful. There is history everywhere. It's too much to take in on one trip tbh

Jimbo and A&M just took over that number one spot on 247. He'll have them topping tall timber in short order. Hopefully we can crack the top ten.

100% agree, however it’s still asking for an “unnecessary flag”, and either one would 100% got a flag called on us. So your argument that you didn’t like Mays doing it because it’s “asking for an unnecessary flag” doesn’t hold up

Smith going after the guy that dirty shot JG shows a unity and a toughness that you’re not going to do that to our guy especially our QB.

I can stomach that flag imo.

Just ear holing someone down field for no reason when the play is over and isn’t even looking is just stupid and fake tough to me. That’s why i had. A problem with the the tweet that said he was “doing work”.

Hard to do that when you haven’t been good for over a decade.
Hard, sure. But I thought we’d be at that level.

I don’t think recruits care about program history all that much. Tennessee should check all legitimate boxes for top guys:

Do you have the money to pay me what other programs are offering? Check.
Are you a good recruiting staff? Check.
Do you have a track record of getting players to the NFL? Check.
Can you offer playing time? Check.

High profile players want to play at schools who are winning more often than not like 98% of the time. That’s why the parody in college football is a myth.

and that player for Colombia that got killed for an own goal in the 90's, one of the world cups i think, wasn't it escobar?
Yeah, that was his name. I'm not a soccer follower, but the reason I remember that name is because late-teenage me and some of the others I worked with would play air hockey after work. When one of us would strike the puck so hard that it ricocheted around and went into our own goal everyone would scream, "ESCOBARRRRRRR!!!". Looking back, that was in extremely poor taste...like I said, though, it was late-teenage me.

Just wanted to add to this:

I do think we’re going to move up in the rankings.

Competitive. Winning. Can I win a championship there? Not yet. Not much. Not soon.

UT and PruittCo haven't turned the corner yet. We'll see how we look against Auburn.

To be fair hes killing it in state for the most part. At least the highly rated guys are all Texas kids.

Texas and OU don't have the strong recruiters on staff like they have had in the past so he really should clean up.
