Hate Pennington but love when Overstreet is on the show breaking down the OL.
On the safety -
Not a single OL got on the other side of the L.O.S. in the attempt.
UF knew exactly where we were going with the run, their mlb took steps towards our left side before the snap because they had already discovered that we have no other option in those situations.
On scheming to compensate for the OL -
Basically, you can't. You can roll out etc; for a play or 2 but you can't do it an entire game or half,. whatever. Once you play your cards a couple of times, then their defense just compensates.
Bottom line, we need SEC talent on the line, not tricks to try to mask it.
The first TO was on JG UF was in an obvious all out blitz look and he held onto the ball too long.

Thats what I was trying to say. Year 1 3-9 Year 2 4-8 dependong on OOC schedule. Year 3 6-6 be competitive and beat 2 of 3 USCe, UK, Vandy. Year 4 7-5 or 8-4 while being competitive with UF and the west opponent not named Bama. Year 5 8 or 9 wins and be competitive with everyone on the schedule. I dont think this is unreasonable
So much this. I get wanting to establish an identity, but the best OCs adjust their scheme and philosophy to what they have to work with each season.I dont know what our offensive strategy was last night other than to ask people to do stuff they cant do, get mauled, and lose the game.
There are things you can do to mask deficiencies on the offensive line. Keep the defense off balance, make them play assignments, and avoid situations where they can go full pass rush with no worries. What I saw looked about as dumb as forcing Worley to run the read option.
You have to play with the hand youve been dealt
Uh, no. The first int we kept 7 in to block. Florida had 5 rushing the QB. DWA came down the line to block a defender, and Tim Jordan ran up to help block the same defender, letting #99 run right by him untouched. JG had the ball less than 3 seconds and was in the throwing motion when he got hit from behind.
1:33 mark here.
Fault JG all you want but be fair. Happened routinely last night where we kept 6-7 guys in to block 4-5 defenders, and the QB was getting killed back there still.
First INT happened because OL failed to protect JG and failed to chip the DL that caught the ball, or you could argue that JG held onto the ball a little too long. Second INT was just a great read by the defender, $&@! Happens. All those fumbles had ZERO to do with play calling. The reality is that if you take away the turnovers, that game is at least going to the 4th quarter.
First INT was a blitz. JG had to realize that. You are ignoring what was an issue last night.
I knew we were running every first down, and I have never played football.
