Maybe when JJ’s knee is hurt. When they’re healthy JJ is definitely faster. Brandon never would have scored on that TD against UF in 2016.
That TD wasn’t really about speed man. That was just the db biting on the deep in that we ran 600 times that year. We can agree to disagree but i don’t think JJ is very fast.

I'd probably order it like:

1a/1b: Jennings and Callaway. Jennings will always be remembered for Florida/Georgia (and hopefully a few more this year), but will only get all-conference recognition after putting up numbers. Callaway won us the GT game (arguably, but I'm arguing it) and could probably get all-SEC on hype alone because he's so athletic.

3: Johnson.. I just looked at his highlights, which I guess I repressed from my memory like everything else last year.

What I remember most about our WR's last year, and what I'm hoping Coach YAC can help cure, is stone handed drops. Gotta quit doing that.

I'm excited to see what Murphy can do with all the talk about him this off-season.
I would love to forget about last year, too. If BJ would have hung on to that rocket from JG to beat USCe, it woulda helped BJs reputation. Imo, that would have been a pro catch and can forgive him for it. Like u, I'm hoping Jordan Murphy takes a big step up this year.

You misunderstood me: Brandon never would have outrun the safety to the end zone.

I don’t think JJ is all that fast either. But Johnson is pretty slow for a WR. He’s not physically impressive. But he runs great routes, has good agility, and has pretty reliable hands.

JJ, on the other hand, was once our best gunner on kickoffs. You don’t necessarily have to be a burner to do that, but you’ve gotta have a little speed and explosion. He’s far more physical and a better blocker.

Saying Johnson is better in every way is either false or hyperbole.

Yeah, Country Roads will win because the internet loves things until those things are driven into the dirt.. It was recently in movies Aliens, Kingsman 2, and Logan Lucky as well as Fallout. Now that it has modern clout, it's "the coolest/best/most amazing/most weirdly applicable song evarrr" for [checks watch] a couple years? The internet's love for Country Roads go the way of Gangham Style here soon, when people realize it's really a song about Maryland and it's not authentic enough for their sophisticated tastes.

Fieldman just posted a team by team SEC prediction on the athletic. Would love if someone would post the Tn part....

"There’s not much star power at Tennessee for Jeremy Pruitt, but he’s got two QBs with a fair amount of experience, two solid backs in Ty Chandler and Madre London and pretty good athleticism at receiver. Plus former No. 1 overall recruit Trey Smith on the line. Chandler could emerge as a star in the SEC. The Vols really need that. Last year, UT ranked No. 112 in rushing. Keeping Darrin Kirkland Jr. healthy will be a key to boosting what was a porous defense. I think there’s enough to work with here to get to a bowl game and build a foundation, but not much more than that right now."

Other than Ainge (who doesn't count), this is the most positive, real, and true statement I have seen be expressed into a season prediction from a media source so far. The Athletic seems to be a real good one.

Brandon Johnson is the type of player who will end up top 10 in some receiving category at Tennessee without anyone realizing it and get 10 years in the NFL on 3 catches, 42 yards per game. 8 years in, you’ll see him playing your favorite team... “he’s still around?”

Not a bad deal
