So to recap what I missed last night as I tended to getting my wife's jeep towed to the dealership:

1 Return of the Jedi was good unless there was an ewok in the shot then it was horrifically bad
2 Mullen gonna get roasted by the media today
3 Braves need an elite closer but I don't think there is one out there that you could trade for, so get a starter and make SWARZACK the closer.
4 Prime day better have my kayak on a deal today

Mehlen won't get roasted. Florida is too much of a media darling

Great stuff man, love it. Have you considered including how many years the current coach has been in place? Considering you’d probably expect a drop off in year one, and that year 2 jump, I’d expect that to give some kind of predictive value.

That’s a good idea, but would take awhile to go through all 130 teams. I might re-up with cfb matrix and just ask them for the data.

Watching SEC This Morning getting ready for SEC Media days. They're saying this is the best SEC East we've had in a long time. McElroy really high on Vandy and UK. They don't know what to expect from UT this fall (have to see it to believe it) but they're in agreement no one is going to be an "easy out" in East for first time in awhile.

Vols have a real shot to shock some folks this fall. Man, I'm starting to get jacked up for the season. 46 days...

Will Smith is the closer we need

Make a 008 and cast a woman. Keep 007 the way it is. This is dumb
Not much into Bond films but watched a special on the author.
"00" just means licensed to kill at your own discretion, in the movies (although it had an added twist in the author's real life).
And the 7 is your placement in the 12 MI-6 agents with that license. So anyone who replaces that particular character/agent, carries the title 007. Race and gender will never be an issue in the eyes of the film writers, those will rotate often in modern days.

There has been 001-0012, most mentioned in different films.

That felt really nerdy.

Why are they high on Vandy who lost Shurmur and UK who lost everyone who made them good?

Yeah, but it just stinks in the sense of rattling a well loved and established character in that role who always has certain characteristics.

It’s a frustrating trend that in this age people think if you can do a thing, you should do it. As others have said, branch out into other characters who have not been established. That would be fun. Set it up for a crossover film in the future with the two working together, ala MCU. This just makes me roll my eyes

I agree with all this on other characters, ones that were a single person and their name isn't just a rank.

But now women and minorities can hold these positions in the real MI-6. I'm not a sjw by any means but to disqualify someone from a role they can now obtain even in real life, would not only be more unrealistic than most stuff in the films but would also truly qualify as discrimination..given it is at least based on actual positions inside the British CIA.

Depth, coaching, development. McElroy is very high on Vandy's offense. We'll see...
Vandy has a good RB and a good TE, but with no QB....? UK has developed well, but I think last years success is in people’s heads too much. It was one year where they hit on a talent in Allen and they had a good running game. Those guys are gone. That QB isn’t very good either. I think they drop back to 7-5 or so

So, my interest in making predictive models is that it seems every year teams get pumped up by a few talking heads, and most media has little else to do but repeat and discuss the things a few folks said the day before. It’s basically swarm behavior. That swarm behavior affects how casual bettors evaluate where to place their money.

If you come up with a decent model, then you should be able to wreck fools on the season total wins and first week scores, where you’re picking based on data and most everyone else is listening to talking heads.

This is why I spend more time reading Chatt’s posts than what most of the media writes this time of year. He’s doing what they should be doing - combing through the data and looking for patterns.
