OK, One more question. I've read that some providers don't allow their content to be recorded over streaming devices. Would any of the networks that show UT football or basketball be like that?

OK, so I currently have DirecTV in 5 rooms with DVR. If I wanted to cut it and go with Playstation Vue, I know I'd need to sign up for the service.

Is my understanding correct in the following:

Additionally, I'd need some sort of streaming device, like a Roku stick. Using that stick, I'd install the PSV app (and any other on-demand apps I'd like) and that is how I'd access my content. And, since I would like my local channels, I'd need an HD antenna.

Is that it? Would I have everything I'm used to this way?

My current internet is 50mbps. Would I need to bump that up?

I would recommend going with the Apple TV as your streaming device. I have both Apple TV and a Roku in my house that I use to stream Playstation Vue and the Apple TV is in different league with the interface and usability.

If possible, I would also suggest getting a basic level cable/internet package that gives you 12 or so local channels. That way you can download all the Fox, NBC, etc apps and use your package as credentials to watch for free. I utilize AT&T Uverse in this capacity and it is actually cheaper than just internet alone.

50mbps is a good streaming speed. Yes you need something like a Roku or Amazon fire stick or Apple TV. Make sure your HD antenna has a good range. Depending on where you are PS Vue may have some local channels.

Wouldn't you need them for certain sporting events...NFL, golf tournaments such as The Masters, college football games being broadcasted on the major networks?

Can you see all these events streaming???

Whatever I cant see from the apps on my Roku (NBC, FOX Sports , etc) I will go down to the local watering hole.

Haha...I just checked the score and saw it was 2-0. What did I do??

The luckiest goal I've ever seen. The Belgium player hit a header trying to pass it across and it curves into the goal kissing the top bar.... And now Belgium with the equalizer

I like Sling, although have considered checking out YouTubeTV, as others have mentioned. I have an Amazon Firestick for inert and ava Roku stick for the other, and you get as lot more channels in Sling with the firestick. I

But yeah, Sling is way cheaper than cable or satellite, and no contracts. And you can get all the ESPN/SECN channels, and all the movie channels for much cheaper than cable/satellite. You just need to be sure you have high speed internet.

So you’re a slinger?
