I was going to post that about the Patriot. Same reason it was a 3* for me. Saw it in theaters and never again.
The problem with the Patriot, Gladiator, Braveheart, and Tombstone, is that none of them are historically accurate. If you just want to watch a fun action movie then they all have action, in varying degrees, but they all are very, very loosely based on history, although with Tombstone there has always been multiple sides to the story, so we really don't know how much truth inadvertently was included in Stuart Lake's supposed 'biography' of Earp.
For my likeability, I rate them -
Tombstone
Braveheart
Gladiator
Patriot
But all of them should be taken with a grain of salt as far as accuracy.

Im fine with artistic liberty as long as its not a documentary. Based on actual events is good enough for me
