Tommy Frazier had a blood clot condition (and an actual BLOOD CLOT in his leg) and won two NCs afterward...and just scored against the Gators again. My understanding of Chris Boshs case is that he had multiple blood clots and quit basketball AFTER his condition was diagnosed...and is now considering resuming his career. I have a personal connection in that both my late and current wife have the genetic condition and recovered from blood clots. Theres a medical regimen that allows for a normal life. If Trey actually hasnt suffered an actual clot, that may be the reason theyre simply holding him out and monitoring his health...precautionary. Genetic testing and follow-up evaluation could come to the conclusion that his career resumes as normal just with scrutiny and frequent monitoring.
Just wanted to give you an update. My surgeon wouldnt see me unless I had a MRI done, so I had a chiropractor I know get me a pre cert for the MRI to be done. I got the MRI done and he gave me the test results and he told me to try to see the surgeon since I had the testing back. From reading the report it sounds like 2 disc injuries at different levels and it had a couple other things in the report but I have no idea what the lingo means because Im not a doctor lol. Im moving around better, but still cant really bend or twist much and am scared if I try Ill make it worse. The pain isnt unbearable anymore, but I was still told to keep it easy which is hard for me because Im a really active person. Besides the pain I have in my back the pain is still in both hips. Itll probably take some time to get the doctor appointment with my surgeon. Any advice on what to do on my own in the meantime? Thanks for all your help.

Let me try to help you just a little bit. My back pain started in November. Lower back pain first, couldn't stand up straight for a few weeks. Pain moved to my left hip and then down my left leg. I'm kinda stubborn so I lived with it until I couldn't anymore. Got an MRI in late January. Surgeon said I had a bulging disk pinching a nerve between L4 and L5 vertebrae.
This had been going on for 3 months so he suggested steroid shots for immediate relief and surgery for more permanent relief. I chose surgery because I am very active and wanted it fixed. He put me on Meloxicam 15 MG, once per day prior to my surgery. That damn little pill stopped my pain completely in 3 weeks. I cancelled my surgery and told my doctor if Meloxicam could do that, I would opt for the steroid shots if the pain came back down the road. I did not look forward to having bones removed from my back. Good luck my man. Everyone has to make their own decisions but I believe this was the best course for me. I'm getting up there in age--born in 1948 and the thought of surgery was driving me crazy. I haven't had any pain for the past week and I feel great again.
Thanks. Ive had back problems for a while. Im 30 years old now and already had to have a spinal fusion done about 6 years ago on L-5 S-1 due to an accident. After the surgery I was completely fine and was cleared to do absolutely anything until tweaking it last week and causing some disk issues. Ive been down the injection shot path before and it caused absolutely no relief at all. I just want to go back to being fully active again asap.
I know that you're just relaying what you're reading, but the family was very clear about wanting to keep this private and this kind of speculation, whether true or not, is against the family's wishes.
