Tommy Frazier had a blood clot condition (and an actual BLOOD CLOT in his leg) and won two NC’s afterward...and just scored against the Gators again. My understanding of Chris Bosh’s case is that he had multiple blood clots and quit basketball AFTER his condition was diagnosed...and is now considering resuming his career. I have a personal connection in that both my late and current wife have the genetic condition and recovered from blood clots. There’s a medical regimen that allows for a normal life. If Trey actually hasn’t suffered an actual clot, that may be the reason they’re simply holding him out and monitoring his health...precautionary. Genetic testing and follow-up evaluation could come to the conclusion that his career resumes as normal just with scrutiny and frequent monitoring.

I got the MRI done and he gave me the test results and he told me to try to see the surgeon since I had the testing back. From reading the report it sounds like 2 disc injuries at different levels and it had a couple other things in the report but I have no idea what the lingo means because I’m not a doctor lol. I’m moving around better, but still can’t really bend or twist much and am scared if I try I’ll make it worse. The pain isn’t unbearable anymore, but I was still told to keep it easy which is hard for me because I’m a really active person. Besides the pain I have in my back the pain is still in both hips. It’ll probably take some time to get the doctor appointment with my surgeon. Any advice on what to do on my own in the meantime? Thanks for all your help.

First, what are the other couple of things? Just type the words.

The McKenzie therapy evaluation and exercises are what you really need at this point.

Oral steroids can still help. Medrol pack.

Bending and twisting are bad for injured discs. Avoid beding and/or twisting while lifting anything. Those can take your non-surgical injury and turn into a surgical issue quickly. Amount of weight does not matter. Twisting with as little as 5 lbs while bent over can rupture a disc...

I did not look forward to having bones removed from my back. Good luck my man. Everyone has to make their own decisions but I believe this was the best course for me. I'm getting up there in age--born in 1948 and the thought of surgery was driving me crazy. I haven't had any pain for the past week and I feel great again.

Good choice.
A disc bulge is almost never a surgical issue.
Run from any surgeon that recommends it as initial treatment.

After the surgery I was completely fine and was cleared to do absolutely anything until tweaking it last week and causing some disk issues. I’ve been down the injection shot path before and it caused absolutely no relief at all. I just want to go back to being fully active again asap.

You should get copies of your spine injection procedures. Odds are that if it didn’t help, it was a steroid that you didn’t respond to. Or the wrong location. Or both. Too often I see where an injection doesn’t work, yet it’s repeated without charging meds...definition of a fool is doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome (referring to doc that did your shots and not you)

The other possibility is that your previous injury was definitely a surgical issue and nothing else would have helped...

I know that you're just relaying what you're reading, but the family was very clear about wanting to keep this private and this kind of speculation, whether true or not, is against the family's wishes.

I agree with this. Speculation turns into rumors which turn into fake truths that everyone believes. Medical issues should always be private

Hoping for the best for Trey!

If he can’t play this fall though, my floor for this year’s team gets a lot lower: 4-8. Will be hard to play the style of ball Pruitt wants to play with a patchwork OL that lacks depth.

People are going to speculate. It’s in our nture. Especially on a message board.

The family wants privacy sure.

But the fans don’t really care. They want Trey to be healthy and back playing football so UT will be better up front.

Fans (me included) are selfish.

So I get what you are saying but it isn’t going to stop.

Even with Trey, I think we were going to struggle next year on the o line. Obviously losing a great player like that is a huge loss. No matter how good this coaching staff is, being below average on both sides of the line with question marks at quarterback and defensive back isn't exactly a combination for success. I'm thinking 6-6.

This is exactly what I said about, he who we don’t speak his name that’s at GA now.

If something like this (if it happens) happens to him at GA and he only plays one year there. He’s just another dude that played one year at GA.

If he came here and something like this happened to him. He still has the dads name and it will still carry him on to huge opportunity’s because of that. He’s not just another one year player he’s a legacy.
