So, not a failure and pretty good when you compare to Butch which everyone says was a great recruiter) We did have top 5 classes in 2014 and 2015, but Pruitt has just started (only been here two months) and already doing better or as well as Butch his first year and the last two years

Yeah, NSD was rough, but if you look at the class as a whole it's not bad. Considering everything he was facing (early signing, coaching Bama through the playoffs, and all the bad pub from coaching search) the class is pretty good. If you'd told me we'd finish 20th in the rankings this year when he was hired I'd have taken it.

Top 5 or bust next year though. If Butch can do it CJP better be able to do it.

I won't be happy with less than a top 5 class. I won't be calling for CJP to be fired but I will have doubts about his ability to win championships at UT. What happens on the field is WAY more important but I think he has to recruit with the big boys in the SEC to win consistently.

Call it a line in the sand if you want but I actually think I'm setting the bar lower than CJP is.

Jumped on Rivals and maybe I'm missing someone, but it looks like all the RB's for '19 are on the smaller side... biggest guy I found was Lakenith Thompson at 225 from MS... go get him and put 10lbs of good weight on him and let's roll.

Quavaris Crouch is listed at 6'2" 224lbs going into his senior season. We hosted him and have visited his school so it sounds like we're making him a priority.

Thanks. Apart from watching games, I didn't read much last year. I came up empty on google, but he's not a huge name so I wasn't surprised.

I wonder if he'll get a re-look at DB? I'm guessing the coaches will re-evaluate top to bottom.

Numbers -

Butch Jones' nine assistants + Rock Gullickson combined to make $4.975 million a year go. Pruitt's staff (with 10 assistants + Craig Fitzgerald) will make $6.455 million

Here's the quick rundown per FOI request.
OC Tyson Helton — $1.2 million (3-year deal)
DC Kevin Sherrer — $705K (3-year deal)
DC Chris Rumph — $805K (3-year deal)
DL Tracy Rocker — $505K
S/ST Charles Kelly — $330K
DB Terry Fair — $255K
OL Will Friend — $805K (3-year deal)
RB Robert Gillespie — $515
WR David Johnson — $505K
TE Brian Niedermeyer — $205K
S&C Craig Fitzgerald — $625K (3-year deal)

* Most interestingly, four assistants got a 3-year deal. That didn't happen under the previous AD.
